Do people use Bing?

Post » Thu Aug 19, 2010 3:58 am

I mainly use google but I wonder if people do use this search engine made by MS.

10 or more years ago I always used dozens of search engine to get the data I want, (ex: Yahoo, Alta Vista, etc).

for last couple years, I only used Google and lately (I know im late to this) found Bing and it looks ok.

what are the public opinions on Bing?

No point in using other search engine when Google exists IMO. :P

I liked it when I first started using it, but yes. It does just seem unnecessary when there is Google.

You just reminded me of http://www.collegehumor.com/video/5072264/googling-with-bing.

No, I do not use Bing and I have never seen anyone use it.

Closest I've come to using Bing is watching the commercial.

I like to get a second opinion on my searches occasionally as Google seems to sometimes censor searches. Even so, there are many other better search engines out there than Bing aside from Google.

This.

I don't see the point of using another search engine. What useful stuff does Bing do that Google doesn't?

i did use it for a bit to get some bing reward microsoft points but there is too much clutter for me to keep using it, and the extra stuff that the bing bar needlessly installs without uninstalling with the uninstaller were also annoying

I accidentally used bing once when it was the default on the libraries search bar and it was awful. I thought it may just be IE but I used google and it was brilliant. I've never, even accidentally, used it again.

Yeah I use it, don't know why, it just feels better. I don't use the translator though, I use the Google.

I don't know what it is about Bing, but I absolutely hate using it. Google is the daddy, and I can't see any point in using anything else.

I sold my soul to Google a long time ago. I really am not a big fan of any other search engine. I have a Motorola Droid connected to my Gmail account so i always have a tab open to Gmail/Google/Youtube.

Google, oh Google, my love!

I cheated on Google once by accident, though, because our school's computers have Bing as the default search engine. :shakehead: I'll never do it again, I promise!

I mainly use Google out of habit; I use Bing occasionally, partly as I don't trust Google especially, but it's a bit crap really. Then again Google has also been a bit crap since they revamped their website a few months back. I wonder if Altavista is still around...

I used it a little and disabled it because Firefox told me to. Anyway I like Google better. It didn't take much for me to get rid of it. :)

I've used Bing a bit, as well as most other major search engines.

I always come back to Google. It's head and shoulders above any other search engine. I have no idea why anyone would bother with any alternative at the moment.

Huzzah! Maybe I'll go back to using that again. I guess it's nice that at least a part of DEC survived.

My girlfriend uses it as her main search engine. She really likes the pictures that show up in the background every day, and it is actually a lot better for image searches then google or yahoo. I was actually surprised at all the different pictures that didn't show up on google or yahoo. They are way better, and offer better quality IMO.

That's hilarious when you consider the fact that Bing powers Yahoo Search
