Perception stuck at (-) -2

Post » Sat Jan 16, 2016 11:59 pm

I recently noticed that my "perception" attribute is stuck at -2 and I don't know how to fix it. It's baseline should be at 5, so I guess that's like -7. I have no items equipped that are causing this (it persists when I'm naked), and it's not due to drug addiction or obvious health related effect: my character is in full health, and there are no chems or other edible items active. I even saw a doctor and had everything healed just to make sure. Any ideas about how to fix this???

Known bug after a head injury. If you are on PC I think there is a console command to use, otherwise, you need to find a earlier save where it isn't present.

Thanks. If that's the case, that really svcks, because I have hours with this issue. Also, my head isn't gone like in the video you linked, and it appears healthy in my pipboy.

Try this: find a chair and sit. Then wait 24 hours. See if this clears it. For some reason, this technique seems to "reset" broken issues.

The head loss in the video, is merely cosmetic I think (however morbid it is lol :D )

If you are on PC, you can use the console command

player.setav

In your case

player.setav perception 5

If you have checked for all other reasons, I see nothing else, than this bug. I wish they had left in the info panel from previous titles, where you could mouse over stats to see which modifier was in play.

Ohh, never heard of that one, cool!

I'm on xbox one. I'll try the chair technique and see if that works. Also, I tried getting my head crippled and then letting it heal and that did NOT fix the issue.

The visual effect on head injury is permanent once it's there...only fix is reverting to an earlier save. On PC you get to mod stats (but head injury visual effect stays!).

Sleeping doesn't fix it either...never tried sitting for 24 hours though.

So, I tried waiting in a chair for 24 hrs. The issue persists.

Bummer, as now you have a permanent glitch that's going to affect your game. Sorry the tip didn't work out. I guess it only fixes world issues and not character issues.

It svcks crap like this happens to us console players who can't fix it with a console command. There's irony here.

Revert your game to earlier save time.
