Perfect Human Warrior?

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 6:55 pm

Im making a new character. I had a pure mage but now I want to become a warrior. What human race should I choose?

Btw, should I just abandon my mage?

Breton is a good choice. As a heavy armor wearer, your only real weakness will be magic users, and Breton's have a natural resistance to magic.

Imperial: Block Heavy Armor, One-handed
Nord: Two-handed Block, Light Armor, One-handed
Redguard: One-handed Archery, Block

hopes this helps!

Nords are pretty great. In my experience, frost spells are the main magical problem for warriors (due to their ubiquity and the crippling slow effect), and Nords have a 50% reduction to that. The Battlecry is a huge advantage if used properly, too.

Not feeling the Breton love. At the end of the day it's all look and feel (coming from a usual powergamer). Nords I see as refined barbarians, Imperials are soldiers, and Redguards are, for lack of a better term, swordsmen. You can do whatever you want, but for whatever reason I see a Nord Warrior as a 2H, either armor, Imperial as sword and board, definite heavy armor, and Redguard dual wield, either armor.

What do you mean? Are you going to be using 1-handed weapons?

I have tired making a pure warrior (I am still currently using him at level 40?) and it was very hard for me to just go sheer warrior, I eventually chosen to go resto as well becasue it really is hard to play just a 'pure warrior'.

Yes, then you will need to put Perks in tehre really. The actual skill will not be as significant as the perk points used. So perk points will be more useful than actual ranks.

In this game people pick what fits or what works, or both. Any race could be a warrior in this game as well as a mage. In my opinion what fits is always the way to go because it keeps you happy with your character. An example of this is in one of my oblivion saves, I was a wood elf in heavy armor with a warhammer....needless to say I felt more and more stupid as i played. So look at all the races and pick what screams badazz warrior to you.

My brother is playing a lightly armoured Breton switching between dual wielding and sword & board as the situation dictates. His Lord stone bonus bumps magic resist up to 50% and the extra 50 armour rating makes up the difference between light and heavy, at least early game. Best of all worlds, IMO.

The imperial activated racial has an equivalent effect to the nord battle cry, except you don't have to chase your enemies down afterwards to kill them. That makes it better for me.

The nord frost resist is pretty nice, but if you pick a good fighting style you shouldn't have to worry about spell damage too much. Love the elemental resist block perk.

^Lots of good points. I think it's a strength of the game that there's really no clear choice. An important question: which race allows you to make the character that looks the coolest and most class- and armor-appropriate to you? The answer to that question constrains my character choices more than stats, really.

Breton has always been, and still is the strongest race. Orc is a close second, but once a 60 sec daily power will never have the utility of a passive ability.

I have the most fun with my sword 'n' board warrior (Nord lv22... My third). Great fun playing a warrior. Tried rolling a spellsword the other day, not so fun.

I have a ranger type nord character. My first was a spellblade. The ranger doesn't use magic, only bows and two handed swords. no restoration. It can get quite hard fighting things like trolls and dragons in light armor.
