my performance and its mods.

Hey guys, I am posting this simply because I wanted to show the mods and some of the performance of my oblivion game. In this thread there are 3 screenshots showing different angles at which the FPS is different.

The performance mods I have are listed as so:

1. streamline

2. oblivion stutter remover.

I would like to boost the performance a little more so maybe the lag will cool it a little bit. The lag isnt bad but we all know that its not all that great either.

so Does anyone know any mods that might be a slight performance booster? Any graphics boosters that might also slightly boost performance?

here are the pictures: (uploaded to Flickr)

the specs of my laptop are not all that great.

amd dual core 2.0 Ghz
2 GB ram memory
250 GB harddrive
amd radeon 6250 Graphics.

it is pretty weak but it seems to run oblivion fine on low settings, which I am comfortable with.

in some spots (not many) it does lag. and like I said the lag isnt bad, but its not all that great either.

for the mods I am using for performance, I DID post them in the opening post but I will post them again. including all other mods I am using.

Performance mods:

1. streamline

2. oblivion stutter remover( yes I am using OBSE)

3. 3 armor mods, 1: andragorn weapons and armor 2: underworld armor 3: drakescale armor and weapons(I dont use it very much, it cuts my FPS almost in HALF lol)

4. low poly grass.

5. 300_combat sounds

6. rens bueaty pack_only hairs

and thats it for the mods.

if you notice it lags a little tiny bit, but enough to annoy me.

I would say that you are doing fine, given your computer's specs. Plus, of course, there is the fact that recording video while playing introduces stuttering and/or lag, no matter the PC hardware involved.

edit: As for optimisation mods, there are some others you could try, if you feel the need, or maybe want to shoot for higher settings -> http://tescosi.com/wiki/Oblivion:Stabilization_and_Optimization_Mods - in particular, Silent Feet MAX springs to mind, but I am sure you will see a number of other candidates for installation as well.

id have to say your honestly lucky you are getting even that much. my frame rate is lower than 20 most of the time while outside but then again i have hundreds of mods. by the way OSR caps your frame rate at 30.

yes you are right.

but the problem does not lay within the grass, the trees, or the LOD.

it lays within the NPC's.

my framerate goes from 30 all the way down to alomst 11 when looking in the direction of more than 1 npc in one spot. and even when I'm battling my framerate goes down to an all time low of 8 FPS.

is there a way to fix this? is there a mod that reduces either the poly count of the npc's or something?

and this includes even in towns such as skingrad or anvil. and in buildings as well.

sounds like your processor having trouble keeping up with AI to me and sadly there is probably nothing that can be done.

No that wasnt it, I fixed it using a mod that did muted the footsteps that I never seem to pay attention to anyways, anyways theyre now silent making my battling sequences alot easier and more fluent.
