I have recently installed a fair amount of mods and started a new game, only to find that I get hits of extreme lag (5 fps or so) every few minutes. It doesn't matter what I'm doing: wandering the wilderness, standing still in an empty house, fighting for my life, etc. They last a random but very long period of time unless I "make them go away". I've found that hitting escape to pause the game, waiting a second (going in and out quickly sometimes doesn't work), then hitting escape to resume play fixes the problem... for a few minutes. This seems rather absurd, and I've been disabling all the new mods I've added except one. Since I'm using a cobl race and would like to have the various cobl features, I haven't disabled it. So, it seems cobl might be the culprit. I've tried the 3gb fix (using windows xp) to no avail, as well.

I have been driven to acts of terrible cruelty, wandering the outdoors simply to find rabbits, murder them with my bare fists, and feast on their raw flesh. I'm little more than an animal, driven into a senseless rage by the need to "buffer" my game every few minutes. Please, save me from this awful fate.

This problem is completely new, and all the mods on this list except things added by cobl were present before without it. I was playing for hours straight with no crazy lag spikes. Although why cobl would cause this, I have no idea.

Nope, I close everything down. The lag is almost certainly triggered by something within the game, as it will continue almost indefinitely but end as soon as I hit escape, wait a second, and escape out of the menu.

You're running FCOM and and old version of Streamline. I'd blame the mods first.


Edit: By "blame," I mean your system may not be able to handle your load order with smooth performance. That doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with your game.
