Perk affecting quest alias : V

I wanted to dynamically add a keyword to a food item which could be used in conjunction with a perk. To do this, i created a quest alias with the specific keyword. When the quest starts the item is added to the player. Using the console, i can confirm that the quest alias has the keyword.
However when i try to condition a perk to check for this keyword, the perk does not affect the food item in the quest alias.
However if i add the keyword directly to the item, the perk works.

I tried to use Run On Quest Alias, but the drop down box remains greyed out and can't be used, (this only becomes active when used as a condition in a quest).

I have also ticked the box (Use Aliases), but again this has no effect.

Is there a way for a perk to affect a quest alias when using an alias keyword?
