Perks and level cap in Fallout 4?

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 11:07 am

Will the perks and level cap be 20 for starters and than with DLC raise it to 50 or higher like they did with New Vegas?

That'd be cool if they did? If they don't.....well. We can dream can't we?

There is a SPECIAL book on the floor of the baby's room. Then there is the poster in the shop with the SPECIAL and displaying 70 perks.

You mean the Vault-Tec board at the right side of the power armor?

IF they follow the current structure, then, I would estimate the hypothesis based on minimal evidence and past experience, that the original cap will be 20 or 30, and will be raised with subsequent DLC's, WITH the perk option to limit level cap (Logans Loophole trait?) for those wishing a more limited experience.

I would assume so and it is most likely perks since, well it is a squinter but the grim reaper sprint perk is among the pip boys on the board, so it would suggest it is indeed a tease of the perk list.

Wow, have not noticed this before. 70 you say? Well i just checked wiki, Fallout 3 had 58 regular perks, 5 special perks and 7 quest perks.

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3_perks

New Vegas had 88 regular perks.

I counted 10 rows of 7 perks, with the SPECIALs across the top.

Yeah looks like it...damn allright. There will be mods with new perks anyway.

If Fallout 3 had 58 and 20 lvl cap it gives us roughly 3 different perks to choose every lvl up.

If i had to guess, i'd say the lvl cap in the Fallout 4 will be 69/3 = 23 and let's round it up to a pretty number 25.

25 lvl cap.

Eh Im Okey with the number, there is a think as to much even for something like perks, the bigger the number the higher the odds the overall quality of each perk diminishes.

If they do it right and give a perk every 3rd level (or 4th, if a trait denies one), they can have a higher level cap -- regarding the perks only, though, skillpoints might bring down but that too is adjustable.

I do hope they implemented traits, but something tells me they didn't ;(

I am okay with 1 perk per 2 lvl's but anything higher then that is too much.

Yeah, it's probably too complex for what they want. Shame. :sadvaultboy:

I done see why not, remember people, Beth didn't just dump NV in Obsidians lap and walkt away, they where co working with them, its not to far fetch to assume they learned a thing or two from Obsidian.

I want the level cap to be 99, that way we won't have to worry about Logan's loophole, won't have to worry about level caps every DLC and we won't have to worry about too many skillpoints per level, etc.

In terms of perks, more like New Vegas, although I expect perk every level, that's a given.

If we're lucky, maybe they will do what they did in Skyrim and give us endless amounts of levels. XD

Honestly....

....level shouldn't exist, the perks should be unlocked and be earn depending how we play the game and how we focus more to be and do in it.

.

.

.

.

But that's just me.

That's not a bad idea, could be tied into sidequest choices, go with Person A you get this Perk or Person B you get a different Perk.

Evidence suggests no level cap.

Todd Howard has said he found the level cap in Fo3 to be a bad idea, as it meant you eventually stopped getting rewarded for stuff you do. Then in Skyrim they itnroduced the legendary update at the very end to allow you to keep leveling up.

Somewhat related, but even Chris Avellone said that, while he personally didn't care, he thought the level cap turned a lot of people off also.
