S.P.E.C.I.A.L.Perks enabling dialog options

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 6:51 pm

This is a topic that interests me very much. As you probably know previous fallouts had special dialog options (irrelevant to speech skill, not talking about that here) when certain conditions were met. Wonder if that will be the case with Fallout 4.

-Low intelligence dialog. For example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XllttBJi98

-Repair, doctor, science etc dialog

-High intelligence and other SPECIAL dialog (endurance, perception, charisma).

-Other perk-specific dialog. We already know something about it from the perks which were spoiled. For example we know that with certain perks, we can pacify others in combat, but will they actually have their own dialog lines like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qS_fvoNGTlQ?

With the removal of skills, maybe Charisma will be what increases persuasion chance instead of Speech.

It sure will but I am talking about other SPECIAL and perk specific dialog. Not the persuasion dialog.

There probably will be SPECIAL dialogue. I don't think there will be low intelligence dialogue, Fallout 3 didn't have any.

Whatever the case is, we'll find out on Tuesday.

Honestly you can't have a low intelligence dialogue system because the voiced protagonist is not set up that way. Unless they recorded a who other set of lines that are "dumbed" down but I doubt it.

In the latest interview featuring Brian and Courtney, they implied that the Idiot Savant perk unlocks dumb dialogue. If I can find the link, I will share it.

Why do you doubt that, Brian Delany specifically mentioned the idiot savant type of character he recorded for.

Sure hope it have it, as it's a great asset to roleplay to have the game actually able to recognise who your are and what you can do.

For example If a strengh 10 character doesn't intimidate easely I will be disappointed, same if a black widow have the exact same dialogs when trying to convince the opposite six.

I hope they'll have perk checks beyond your charisma level and black widow/lady killer. In NV you often had the option of using your skills to get better deals or find alternative ways of completing quests.

I'm definitely hoping for some speech related options dependent on other stats. I'm also hoping there's actually uses for perks outside of their stated description.. Like in the past, you needed a high science skill to do some technical stuffs. It'd really kind of svck if Science is really nothing more than a silly modding perk.

"What do you do?"

"I'm a scientist!"

"Great can you help me with my experiment?"

"Nooo.. all I can do is construct guns"

"So you're really nothing more than a weaponsmith...."

"No, no, no.. looky at my perk. Says I"m a Scientist.!"
