Perks you want to see...

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 12:03 pm

Just as the title suggests: Are there any particular or unique perks you're wanting to see either brought back from a previous Fallout game, or a new one created that would further a game mechanic in FO4 specifically?

I'm personally interested in seeing improvements to stealth-based game play; with respect to that niche I'd say "Sandman" Perk comes to mind.
I'd also love to see you be able to kill silently from behind with a knife or other suitable melee weapon. Hiding bodies would be good as well, with the added improvement of having there be a reason to hide bodies e.g. a better AI/ alarm system. . .

Black Widow/Cherchez La Femme, Cyborg, Toughness, Tough Hide.

There are many perks I used to love for earlier games but are no longer useful with real-time combat so I'm not mentioning them.

Given the crafting, "Jury Rigging" seems like an absolute must.

More stealth base perks for sure. I enjoy playing sneak characters the most in RPGs the sneaker I can be the better. That ED-E perk that allows us to see NightSkin would be nice. .

I would love for that Shotgun Push Back perk from Dead Money.

I'd rather Wild Wasteland just be a part of the base game. Fallout has never been ashamed of being silly...I thought New Vegas segregating it into perk form was a travesty.

pack rat, other carrying perks I can't seem to remember. If we need to pick up random stuffs to craft, and make better weapons. Gonna need a bigger boat, so to speak.

Dual Wielding Perk: Preferably the only possible way of dual wielding.

Here's how it ought to work. The guns that fire twice as fast, but only half as accurate.

Limited to small one handed weapons, of course. There'll be no dual wielding twin Fatman's

This.

Also, I'd like to see Finesse, Sniper, and Tunnel Runner for my preferred playstyle.

Here are the new perks I've come up with:

And Chew Bubblegum- consuming bubble gum gives a temporary bonus to VATS and maximum AP. If you have no more gum in your inventory upon doing so, a second effect boosting it even more, listed as "all out of gum", also takes effect.

With a Box of Scraps- repair powered armor more easily.

Major Leaguer- swing 2-handed melee weapons faster and throw grenades farther, and Buffout lasts twice as long.

I'd like to see these perks return provided they affect dialogue.

  • Educated
  • Black Widow/Lady Killer
  • Cherchez La Femme/Confirmed Bachelor
  • The Professional
  • Living Anatomy
  • Robotics Expert
  • Computer Whiz

I think a good way of counteracting a perk that has little practicality is to give it options for dialogue. I'm hoping for more perk checks, assuming they're still a thing.

More perks that actually change the way you play like And Stay Back!, Travel Light, Hand Loader, Living Anatomy, Rapid Reload and Laser Commander.

Less perks that amount to little more than "20% cooler" perks. And for those wondering, the difference between a perk like Laser Commander and a "20% cooler" perk from Skyrim is that Skyrim's is a universal damage increase while Laser commander is both unique to lasers and also increases crit rate, so you have to question if there are any laser weapons you'd get good use out of with better stats for them.

A version of And Stay Back and Dawngurad for crossbows would have been great.

Meh, I don't want that to be a perk. I use to run a mod that would give it to me in New Vegas. While I would want to see the silliness, I really wouldn't want to have to waste a perk on it.

Considering how little S.P.E.C.I.A.L. points we get I'm definitely hoping for some Intense Training.
