Permanent Spriggan effect on avatar....

Wondering if this happened to anyone else. I sneak shot a spriggan, and when I switched back to third person, my character had swirling green leaves and mist around her. It looks like what surrounds spriggans. It ended up being permanent. I am sure I could fix it in the showracemenu, but I like it and it matches her green hood.

If you want to try to get it, I think I accidentally double hit the sneak button right about when my arrow hit, maybe that did it. I only use the face improvement and nvde figure mods, not sure if they have anything to do with it. Going to put I screen shot up here soon.

It's an infamous glitch... some effects are terrible, like the Draugr glowing Eyes. Glowing eyes are nice and all, but the Draugr eyes were made for the Draugr skeleton, so it just looks weird on people. Like bad, weird.

If you want to add it normally, you can with console commands.

I'm not sure the showracemenu can fix it... Though I've never tried.

Oh, I have played a lot, I mean a lot, like I have 12000 saves, and I have never had it happen. I haven't heard of it either but I haven't been on the boards in a long time.

I have a similar amount of saves, and I've had the Draugr eyes only happen twice on my most recent character.

Not sure what causes it though...

Basically a magic effect gets applied to your character during a battle. Sometimes you even see an "something got equipped" message. This has been a rare issue since Morrowind. Probably has to do with a cell refreshing at the exact wrong time.....

Best thing to do is to load a save from before you got the effect.

You can also try dropping your clothing and other enchanted items on the ground, not a container, then pick them up again. A save and reload after dropping and before picking up might help with this.

Or, you can use the console and try to remove the magic effect. The commands are at the UESP for this. I think it is player.removespell but I don't think that is right and my Inet connection is not conducive to me going over there to look it up for you. Also, this does not always work. Show race menu will not fix this, at all. It will however possibly hose your character, so don't use the showracemenu to even try to fix this.

Yeah, I tried using the player.removespell for the Draugr eyes, and it didn't work. I had to reload a save from before the battle from whence I assume it happened.

I always make multiple new saves in a single play-session for this very reason. I then manually delete them after ending a play-session and still keeping a few just in case.

I imagine that effect would look awesome on some characters, but just load a save if it ever gets annoying.

If you think an effect looks cool, you can just add it through console. This way is safer, as you can use the console again to remove it... well in most cases. Some effects are persistent I think.

Well I like the effect as it suits her. She has the green hood, doesn't wear armor and uses a long bow that I consoled up to about 85% of her elven bow for looks. She is kind of like a Druid Ranger, even though she killed a spriggan, which she sees as misguided and dangerous when they are just out and about attacking random people.

I wonder how you find this effect, I haven't seen on uesp under the console commands.

I can give you the code if you want.

You should also consider enhancing your role-play by summoning Spriggans. There are mods I'm sure, on the Nexus. If you have the creation kit you can make them yourself. You should also add yourself to the Spriggan faction and they will be friendly along with some animals. Not all animals, but only the ones that normally inhabit Spriggan spawns. I can give you the faction code too if you want.

You can also give yourself the Spriggan bug spray, which I can give you the code if you want.

In-game you can use the help command to find things. But I can easily go in the creation kit right now(I pretty much always have it open lol) and find them for you within seconds.
