'Persistent attachments' and your thoughts on the subject.

I've been thinking a bit, and it seems like when you unlock an attachment, it's for everything that accepts that certain attachment, though I could possibly be quite wrong about that.
For myself, if it indeed is like this, it would be a welcome change from what BC2 and CoDx have, with attachments either bound to guns or classes.

But enough of my opinions, what do you think on this subject?

Yea I'm pretty sure the attachment will be unlocked for all applicable weapons, not just individual ones.

But I reckon their will be different levels/tiers of attachments. Like a poor silencer, good, then best etc..
Or It could just be different looks for the same attachment.
That's just my thoughts

I know for certain that when you unlock something, it is unlocked for all your future characters. I guess you unlock attachments for all applicable weapons.

Exact the same thought as my. The may look different on the weapon but do all the same. The improved levels/tiers of attachments is not confirmed, but would be nice :)

The amount of attachments is nice. I wonder if its like Medal of Honor with 2 different sights (red dot and combat scope) that have different atvantages, red dot simply replaces the iron sights with a more open sight while the combat scope gives more zoom.

From what I've seen, it's (at least) one scope with zoom, and three different red dot sights.

I doubt it, seems like it's just something PhoenixX would find cool in Brink.

I don't think it's true. But I think I do have a clue on what he based his statement.
In one of the preview vids, they showed attachments to put on the front of your gun. Muzzle breakers are one of these options.
You had a 4 vent-muzzle breaker and a 6 vent-muzzle breaker. I don't know if one of both is better, but it seems a viable conclusion that there might be attachment tiers, even though I don't believe it.

It's probable. There's also extended mags and drum magazines, for the same gun. Arguably, however, you can say the reload animation will be longer for the drum magazines.

Don't know about the reload speed, but your equip speed will be affected by the amount of attachments and which attachments.

I remember seeing on one video that for a gun they used a pop can as the silencer so maybe..there might be a poor, better, and best?

Yea so now that youve mentioned that theres drum and extended, i realize that it probably will just be different attachment options. You can probably pick either magazine off the hop.. Both with ups and downs... now with silencers im not really sure what we can compare... maybe others are more quite while reducing accuracy and so on. Maybe you show up on radar but with silencers it reduces the time you stay on radar.. or maybe it negates you showing up at all (With the cost of accuracy again)

The pop-can is the resistance side of the muzzle vent thing.

Oh ok misunderstanding thought it was b/c at the same time they were showing a pic of it they were explaining about different silencers.

One thing that really put me off Black Ops was having to buy red dot sights for every gun I bought. Sometimes I'd just unlock an attachment or a new weapon and buy it, only for the next weapon tier to make it obsolete.

If you aren't going to be able to share the attachments between weapons, at least let them all be unlocked or unlockable at the same point in the game.

Yea I figured there would be different levels of attachments since everything else have level tiers. But that's just my opinion

Well I don't see how there could be actual tiers of one attachment.

What would make sense is:

Tier 1 - Red Dot Sight
Tier 2 - EOTech Sight
Tier 3 - ACOG Sight

But we know this is not the way BRINK will do it.

BRINK won't have different tiers of attachments to unlock.

You simply unlock attachments like those named above. But you wouldn't need to unlock the Red Dot to get the EOTech to get the ACOG. (Even though I guess you'll unlock them in this order anyway.)

Oh ok. I guess I figured that you could unlock them but not have to buy them. Or is that one in the same with brink?

Once you unlock them, they're availale. Concerning the tiers, I think they don't exist, but I do believe that, according to REVO's scheme, you might get more bullets from a drum magazine than extended mags, but it'll come with an extra trade-off.
