Pet Peeves

This is not specific to single or multi-player.

Single Player would be a really good story that it very short, or a bad story that is very long, or a story left on a cliffhanger.

But for Multi-player I would have to say just about everything in the Call of Duty's online

What about you guys?

Good storyline being short, bad storyline that is long, campaign mode where the story is sort of bleh and hardly feels like it's a story (GTA IV).

Bad community (useless teammates and such), low bullets to kill (CoD, BF: BC2), big maps where everybody camps, objectives where you can stomp the other team to the ground the entire game then lose at the last second (some missions in APB).

Have you played any of the other GTA's?
GTA IV's story seems like The Godfather compared to them.

^ This and people that don't talk to each-other. I'm not talking about the usual trash that gets spouted in a match I'm talking tactical callouts and info that help with the gameplay.

"there's a Heavy round the corner and I'm out of 'nades." That sort of thing.

You just reminded me of another pet peeve - people who insist that players must use voice chat in order to coordinate and/or work as a team effectively. Also, people who refuse to play with others, that don't have a mic and/or don't talk.

Only GTA I've played fully is San Andreas because it was a good story to me, GTA IV gets so boring since I don't like the storyline and it feels like I'm not even doing a storyline with all the missions.

One shot ranged kills, lack of patches and lag.

12 year olds on mics are funny though, not sure why.

I find 10 year olds cursing and 30 year olds cursing over mic to successfulness fill my lol-meter,

Also hate when games like CoD and halo become too popular, stealing attention from other games

Hate how console devs are keeping technology back another 5 years+ by focusing on the consoles instead of the PC for innovation

A lot of Devs added too many gimmicks too games, taking away resources that could be spent on innovating.

They're also cute when they're young.

I hear way more advlts my age being idiots than I do kids anyway, at least the kids (sort of) have an excuse to pull the immature card.

When two guns of the same type can't have the exact same attachements. WaW and Black Ops. And I didn't even buy those, I played them at my friends house. I hate it SO much... I mean, what the point??? Why can't this gun have a red dot sight? Honestly, why? It's not even that good!

I dislike how the extreme popularity for COD has made the features and gameplay of the game, the thing to compare every other game to, and even if other games offer more or better features, if it is too different from COD, players view it as a failure.

It wouldn't be so bad if COD truly brought innovative and interesting features to the genre - in fact, that would be a great thing to compare other games to, but COD is just such a god-awfully generic, poorly balanced, game that is polluted with the worst-of-the-worst community, that it's really a shame that other games need to compete with it at all.

Lack of customization, cheaters (hate those aim-bot thingies), cry-babies, peeps that eat chips with the mic on, community with no sense of humor, game stopping bugs, boring or done to death story/background, lazy/bad ports and lack of customization... did I mention lack of customization?

This.

Personally, I'm ticked off most by people who kick you because you don't have a mic, when they're probably not going to be actually chatting about coordination anyways. I also hate it when benefits (better guns or perks) are too overpowered or aren't balanced out by worse drawbacks.

Games like Devil May Cry that do the cool bits in cutscenes rather than in-game. I hate that. I also hate QTE's.

objectives where you can stomp the other team to the ground the entire game then lose at the last second (some missions in APB).

Aww~ dude i HATED that there you were stomping the enemy into the ground in offencive objective baised missions then all the sudden on stage 4/4 we suddenly turn into the defenders as our bro turns in an objective as were baiting or distracting then suddenly our deaths matter because the crim's or enforcers will win because.... i don't know the enemy's supiriors got pissed off that we were winning and decided that dispite that NOTHING they set out to do was acomplished they can still 'Win' because they killed the guys that did it a few times or set it to a 'Protect the VIP'.
Which wouldn't have been a problem if we wern't in the open when the objective was completed and haveing 1) a grenade flying magicly into its kill zone in your and/or VIP's scroteum as stage 3/4 is ending 2) a truck full of yahoos with ak-47's already driveing at previously menchend VIP or 3) getting hit by a rocket launcher as 3/4 ends because this happens ALL THE TIME and often nets the enemy multiple kills.
suitcase missions though? completely justified- that stuff was intense when it dosen't start you 7 kilomiters away from the objective.

OT: People who don't do call outs and have played the game for a year and only use their mic to shout obsenities.

The COD games aren't perfect. But the COD gamers are worse.

Only GTA I've played fully is San Andreas because it was a good story to me, GTA IV gets so boring since I don't like the storyline and it feels like I'm not even doing a storyline with all the missions.

If you haven't played the bank heist mission, you failed GTA IV. (The story isn't very teasing in the beginning, but it develops quite well, imho.)

Games like Devil May Cry that do the cool bits in cutscenes rather than in-game. I hate that. I also hate QTE's.

And have cutscenes literally every 20 seconds.

Singleplayer-
-Enemies that detect you even though you are right behind them and motionless
-Boring or Cliffhanger storylines
-Enemies that can use a gun or ability that you can't, or have no oppurtunity to unlock
-Enemies that never stop coming until you move to the objective spot

Multiplayer-
-Shooting or meleeing an enemy but dying and the killcam looks entirely different from what happened.(CoD) :banghead:
-Shooting an enemy with 7 bullets but they turn around and shoot you 3 times and you die
-Constantly being disconnected from your party or the lobby(Black Ops) :brokencomputer:
-Terrible balancing system(MW2)
-Headshots are worth as just much damage as a regular body shot :gun:
-A game that's Too rewarding to campers -Teamates who can't hold their own weight
-A game that's new player friendly(not that I hate noobs I actually enjoy helping them, but things that are cheap that new players use to help them win)
-Limited customization(thank God for Brinks customization)
-Teamates with an annoying voice or that play their mainstream trash music thinking that everyone else want's to hear it :violin:
-People who yell at you for being a [censored] just because you made a mistake :swear:
-Kids that complain about everything or feel amazing just because they got a double kill, headshot, etc.
-People who treat you like a noob because they have a weapon or something that you don't have and are a higher rank than you -Terrible spawns
-Running from an enemy and surviving the bullets but dying as soon as you run behind the corner :gun: :banghead: :dead:

As you can see there are lots of things that piss me off in multiplayer games... I'm pretty sure Brink will eliminate most, if not ALL of these problems XD
