Pete Hines Considers "Dragonborn Comes" by Malukah f

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 6:37 pm

Oh? Like, "It's popular, therefor I must hate it?"
Lord no, I love Lady Gaga despiet her being Mainstream so that's not it.
It's... Her... Smile... It feels like it's svcking my soul out... IT'S EVIL I TELLS YA!

I really don't care about your PhD, I've never seen such a smug smile in my life.

Lady Gaga is the ultimate in depraved soulless teleprompter pop-barbies. And you're gripe is that this demure & confident girl is "smug"? I think you have bigger issues than just bad taste in music bro.

Let's just throw in every good singer into DLC.

Would love to see her as a bard in some tavern. I'd be spending my coin just to hear her sing.

Man! To all the people saying this shouldn't be DLC... I sure hope no one ever gives you a real chance at anything in life!

I'll take that to mean he know hosts X-Factor. My television watching is limited quite literally to It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and reruns of Robocop.

(Not important, but...) He created both X-Factor and the "Idols".

Have you guys heard this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lwgeulqt-jI

I downloaded both videos as mp3, synced them in Audacity and listened. It sounded fantastic! Except for one part where one of them sang ahead of the other, but they quickly synced up again.
It would be awesome if they made a duett.

I just did the same on Youtube but using 2 tabs in Firefox and damn, it sounds pretty freaking sweet. He seems open to the duet idea based off his comments.

If we are talking Xfactor, Janet Devlin would do a cracking version of this.

Like I have said somewhere else already: "I vote her in as Headmistress of the Bards College in Solitude"

What an excellent idea!

Of course, it would have to be new songs that she would sing, something we haven't heard before - her rendition of the Skyrim song is free as an MP3 already, why pay for it via DLC?

So, perhaps she could be her own NPC in the game - a major quest NPC so she could not be killed - that is added to the Bard's College. She could even travel with you as a companion once you complete her quest. Her NPC would use her own voice AND you could marry her in-game! The DLC could also come with a lingerie pack, guitar - she could just play the guitar if you asked while camping or the like - and six new bard songs she could sing. One of those songs could be a soft whispered lullaby she could sing to you in your home when you clicked on a bed to rest.

Is the dragonborn comes an actual song in Skyrim lore?

No offense, but I don't think this barbershop dude is quite the Rodrigo to her Gabriela. Maybe with more practice or better recording equipment.

I always like seeing a fan getting promoted.

Good for her, even for getting all this publicity :)

Oh, don't get me wrong, I like hers much more, but they do still sound good together.

Hers feels, more, genuine. His feels, well, not so genuine. He obviously heard hers, and wanted a kick at the can to. (Nothing wrong with that.) With hers, I get the feeling it was from the heart. She simply loved the game and wanted to "say thanks".

Pete Hines was just complimenting her. I doubt he has any say really in what their DLC's consist of.

Plus we already have mods that add that song in. Why pay for it?

Assuming that I assume that everyone who criticize is untalented is clearly more. I have stated that untalented people have the habit of calling other's people talent "mediocre". Criticism on the song is a matter of taste and opinion, and I couldn't care less about who likes or dislikes it, and wathever reason they may have to do so. Nor is place to dispute the authority on the matter at hand from those with negative criticism

No that's not true at all. You don't have to be an expert at doing/creating something to criticize it, you just have to have experienced a lot of it. If someone is an audiophile and listens to singing as a hobby, he is perfectly within his rights to criticize someone's singing even if he can't sing himself.

Just like someone who can't cook can complain about a meal.

Well, that's true she's not that great but she's better than every single bard that we heard in Skyrim. That's why she deserves a place in a DLC.

Too bad her "terrific voice" (it's a 6/10 at best) is ruined by her lack of knowledge when it comes to editing audio.

Turn down that reverb, hon.

Also, "The Dragonborn Comes" is more suited for a male singer.

Edit the third: Also, there's already a mod that replaces the main menu theme (which is greatly superior) with her song. DLC is absolutely not required.

Her voice is good, but not super good. A lot of girls have great sing voices. I've heard a thousand times better. This one is like a B. I think most people just "over-like" it because they are just "ZOMG ITS SOMETHING FAN-MADE ABOUT ELDER SCROLLS. ITS EXTRA GOOD JUST BECAUSE OF THIS!"

Not that I really care though. I'm neutral.

I think adding a female fan cover or song into DLC (doesn't have to be single DLC, just bundled with their add-on) would be great PR. There is no cons for Bethesda for doing so.

It's tacky to have fans do things for you when they could be done by much more talented professionals. Just look at the Megaman Legends 3 controversy.

Anyone with a mouth can "complain," but only people who actually know how to DO it better can "criticize". The difference is that Critics can offer useful advice beyond saying something is simply good or bad.

Example:

Simon Cowell is a professional Complainer

Paula Abdul is a Musician and a Critic
