Pete Hines Considers "Dragonborn Comes" by Malukah f

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 7:12 pm

There's TONS of random encounters along the roads. What would be so bad about a chance encounter of female elves in the Eldergleam Sanctuary bustin out this song? It works. Even in a roleplaying perspective.

I'm not paying for a DLC of it. Wtf.........

What if it appeared in the expansion they are planning, as what would most likely happen.

I very much doubt micro DLC will be used by bethesda again (oblivion horse armour lol)

Excellent and unique rendition. She really has the changing flow and rhythms down perfectly stirring up emotional energy. Of course if she does end up in a DLC they will probably tweak things to sound even more great. Thanks for shining the spotlight on the talented Malukah. May truth guide her to her destination.

If this becomes a part of a dlc a mute mod would be great.
I don't want that song to play when I'm relaxing in an inn only to make me recall her weirdy face.
I'm trying to relax damnit.

If this girl was uglier this song wouldn't have been popular. Fact.

I think a lot of people look at her pretty face and are half convinced from the off.

this is how life works though.... it's not Shallow Hal. Looks are always the starting point and as you get more familiar the opinion can be adjusted.

Would be interesting if she had only released an audio..we probably wouldn't have all heard it.

I think quite a few people are taking it out of context, in the scenario where this song is in a dlc I would highly doubt they would make a whole dlc just of her. For example imagine Knights of the Nine or the Shivering Isles you get your main package with the quests, new npcs, etc but then they just add some little things to the dlc which aren't apart of the goal of the dlc. For example if Maiq wasn't in skyrim and they wanted to add him so instead of making a dlc just for Maiq they make a dlc with new lands but they also add Maiq who isn't apart of the quests and [censored] for the Island.

While were on the topic of dlcs screw something like the horse armor pack I want a dlc dedicated to "The Adoring Fan"

Broaden your minds people, this doesn't necessarily have to be horse armour type DLC (aka pointless) the song could be an easter egg or appear in a larger expansion, like a cameo.

Jesus, so many negative people assuming the worst out of a vague tweet.

RIF

I thought that I mentioned that I could imagine something like this in a larger DLC and that I couldn't support it as a standalone? To make it clear, I support the idea of having this within a DLC as long as it's not the only content in that particular purchace.

I used the Horse Armor jab as an example of what not to do with it.

I find it mightly amusing how complete untalented and unprodutive people have the habit of saying that the talent of another person is "mediocre". So much for hypocrisy.

This video have been posted a thousand times on the forums, granted. Yes, it's not the second coming of Tiber Septim. But quit being such morons.

I don't have much of an opinion on the song but to assume everyone who criticizes it is untalented is asinine.

She did it pretty well.

I imagine if one examined the playlists and music collections of those who are dogging her, a lot of worse stuff would turn up.

So true. A girl I once knew had a fantastic voice, seriously ten times better than this one, but she was overweight and never got further than her own small goth band.

As for this song yes she is good but not great. It's funny how people try to defend her and bring techniques into it whilst they haven't even touched a music panel once in their life. I have many friend in the music industry and they agree that her singing is good but she needs some serious training to become really good. She has talent but it takes a lot of work to work that into something great. Nobody can say is she can or cannot do this, time will tell.

As for including her voice into a random bard or anything; why the heck not? Would be fun for her and most will appreciate it but don't use her looks. DA2 was horrible to begin with but their latest DLC really broke it for me. For me adding RL people into a RPG breaks immersion as it reminds me of well...RL.

Assuming that I assume that everyone who criticize is untalented is clearly more. I have stated that untalented people have the habit of calling other's people talent "mediocre". Criticism on the song is a matter of taste and opinion, and I couldn't care less about who likes or dislikes it, and wathever reason they may have to do so. Nor is place to dispute the authority on the matter at hand from those with negative criticism.

Being openly rude just for the sake of it, however, and attacking the work of a person without any constructive reason, this have been a cancer on this community that have caused too much damage already. Over the years I've seen prolific, productive members and modders retreat from the community because of this kind of behavior coming from people who... guess what? Have never contributed anything at all until then, and have never contributed anything at all since.

You're assuming that I'm assuming that you are assuming that all people who criticize this woman are untalented. I'm merely stating that such an assumption would be asinine, or so I would assume.

I think a lot of the dislike for the video comes from the extreme love for it, especially since a lot of it doesn't seem to necessarily be for the song itself but rather for her. Topics like "I am in love. Are you?" In regards to the song and people calling her a goddess make it seem people are basically smitten for a chick they see a two-minute video of, and they'll defend her just for that, to the point where people who minorly criticize her or say her vid is average are being attacked, and the same goes the other way around. I'm pretty sure if the video was just audio with a picture it would have a lot less views and a lot less extreme opinions attached to it.

You guys know that there are many ways to alter the voice of any person in this god forsaken world with computer programs and softwares?
There are obviously tons of added effects on that song and i highly doubt that is her "OWN" voice. savvy?

Music industry do this all the time. heres exsample http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ

I don't understand why people are whining about talent?

Talent only gets you so far. The fact is, the song was an appropriate and well constructed rendition of a pretty mediocre bard song, in Skyrim.

She managed to make it a lot more melodic, which can only be considered good.

I don't care if she lacks "true" talent, the fact is her rendition is good, in so far as that it fits fantasy well (unlike those freaking Metal covers of everything).

Then now I'm assuming that you're assuming that I'm assuming that you're assuming that I'm assuming that M'aiq would assume that everyones is assuming that perhaps, we should assume that we're assuming too much. :foodndrink:

On the upside, she's a pretty good singer, and I'm sure that Skyrim cover will earn her some opportunities.

On the downside, she's not that good. And yes, I say this being a terrible singer myself. It's too much Celtic Enya with digitally layered voices and too little humble Scandinavian woman hardened by weather.

I'm not saying its as good as people are making it out to be, but I just listened to the original version in-game and Malukah's version is WAY better than that!

Lol the ingame version ment too be like that , acoustic wthout a army of reverbs just strait from the medievil setting but the girl on youtube has talent and seems too be a undertaking type i respect that .
