Pete Hines Twitter Awesomeness

Post » Wed Oct 13, 2010 12:55 pm

So Pete Hines has been occasionally answering rabid Skyrim fans for the past few months on Twitter, and his latest tweet reveals that they've either made, or are in the process of making, a "demo" for Skyrim. Pete is here clearing up an issue that cropped up when he said that a character in a pic was a Redguard, and then retracted that statement and said that the guy was merely in shadow, and that it wasn't a Redguard after all.

@DCDeacon Who's Lucan?

I'm sure it's just a demo that they are going to show to the press, and not somethin that the average joe will ever get to play, but the mere idea of Bethesda already preparing demos at this early stage sounds rad. Let's hope that we get a sneak peek at it before too long!

In an attempt to save this misguided thread, anyone who hasn't been following Pete's tweets should totally do so. Not only do you get to hear up-to-the-minute Skyrim exclusives about whether or not some character in the background of a pic is a Redguard, you get to learn a little about one of Bethesda's main men. I've learned that he likes to track the success of American soccer stars abroad, and he plays Pokemon with his 7 year-old son!

This. The demo has been shown to GI and all the international mags. And yes, it was hands off.

Don't forget he likes going to hockey games and enjoys "low brow" movies too! Oh, and why are you anonymous?

Because in November of last year I was lurking the years-old "Future Elder Scrolls" thread when various members started freaking out because there were so many "anonymous" users viewing the thread at the same time. I decided to sign up there on the spot, and for the denizens of the thread my screen-name caused much merriment.

following a minuite by minuite account of the development of the game is not at all what I want to do.

it is unwise imo.

when the game comes out.. where will the suprise be?

I think he means demo in the sense of "demonstration", not an actual hands-on gameplay test. :sadvaultboy:

Why bother? Every time he tweets, somebody will come screaming in here making another "OMG Pete tweeted again OMG" thread. This is pretty much the "Pete's Tweets" forum. :meh:

Lol all Pete Hine's twitter has told me is that the guy in the pic is not a redguard, is still not a redguard, and then probably is a redguard. Well that and that he is some kind of god because he can listen to Bieber and not slit his own throat with a Pokemon card. (I'm guessing it was because he didn't want to traumatize his son)

No demo. Bethesda showed certain parts of the game to Game Informer and the international folks. Nobody outside of bethesda has played the game. The next demo/presentation will most likely be in june at E3.

All demos at least until release candidate are hands off, you see someone in Bethesda play, this is because mush of the game is not finished so you might run into stupid empty looking areas or ever bugs

IIRC At E3 2008 two separate people from the media were each given 10 min to play the game from the vault release point.

Yeah there WONT be a public demo. Plus I wouldn't want to ruin my Skyrim experience by playing a watered down 'demo' first.
