Peter Hines hints details about mods on consoles

If the consoles are limited into what amount of mods they can have it'll be for the better. As many have said, mods are tricky business and while you can troubleshoot with relative ease on a PC that kind of luxury is not afforded to console users. Besides, as a console user I don't see myself wanting anything other than like one or two clothing mods or similar visual mod. Maybe a weapon mod? Definitely nothing complex like a full-fledged perk overhaul or HD texture overhaul.

From my experience, the merging process actually cleans up hidden conflicts and dirty files (or at least highlights them so you SHOULD clean them up during the merge). Now, combining half a dozen or so mods that each have dozens of merged mods can certainly lead to some issues I would not like to try and track down (I'm now guessing that's what you mean).

Im sure a company that has been working on this for 7 years and has the inside knowledge of what microsoft and sony "allow" for mods has a better understanding then any of us when it comes to mods on consoles.

To all the people saying that they don't know if bethesda has thought about script extenders, and graphics overhauls, etc, etc. Im pretty sure they have thought about this and worked around it.

Im excited to not have to play on my PC to mod the game, but sadly since I expect to do modding, Ill have to buy it for PC as well anyways :(. Hope more games can make mods available on consoles now that its starting.
