It's too late for Dedicated Servers.
The game is out guys. Stop it.
It's Never too late for a Serious patch and dedicated servers:) Infact it's most probably easier to change the netcoding and direct people to one static IP dedicated server based upon your location, then trying to get us to use P2P over multiple IPs:) Crytek should ask a Guerrilla Games which made "Class A" Netcoding, applied Regional Server Selection with Dedicated servers how to do it, like they did it with KZ3 or DICE from BF BC2 which Redirect U to the nearest Dedicated Server based upon your location:)
I know, but the problem is that Crysis 2 is already out, with that netcode and without DS.
You can't re-done the entire Netcode with a patch, but only improve the base and fix issues...and the base is: P2P. And not DS.
Gears of War 2, for example, received like 10 patches after launch from the community feedback, but the Dedicated Servers will be available only for GoW 3, the next, chapter, after years.
So, it's pure Utopia to see DS in Crysis 2.
Let's hope, at least, to see some serious improvements to the P2P-Netcode for better ping-IP Host Selection and Migrations, and for a major speed-up and stabilization of the Matchmaking system.
They better copy what Bungie has done with Halo: Reach right now instead of Bad Company 2, cause the netcode is pretty much closer with the first one instead of the second title...
