Pets Such As Dogs

Post » Fri Feb 05, 2010 4:42 am

Not sure if its been asked or not, so sorry if I'm duplicating a thread.
Are pets available/confirmed in Skyrim?
In one of the videos, one of the NPC's had a pet dog.
This would be kind of cool, As long as you didn't have to take it every where with you.

If they are more durable and useful then Dogmeat in Fo3/nv and Fido from Fable2 then sure why not, something to train and shape to my playstyle rather than assuming what I want it to do without my direct input :P

I can just imagine a TES pet running through a trip wire and getting pummeled in the face by a giant mace-on-a-chain.

That would be awesome!
Apparently in one of the videos, there are lots of traps, (good thing imo) would be kind of cool to teach your pet to sniff them out.

What if you could buy dogs, so that when they get killed... because they will... you can just replace him? Then you can keep an eye on the stats to see how many pets you've gotten killed on your adventures. :flamethrower:

I would only like to see this if it were done well. As much as I love Dogmeat, he seemed to annoy me in combat much more than he helped me.

maybe you could tame a mountain lion or a wolf to be your pet with a perk and they can fight with you.

Yes. Personally, I think it'd be cool if there was a place where you could go and buy a dog, whatever kind you wanted. As long as they're not too strong. They shouldn't be like the glitched invincible Dogmeat in FO3 caused by Broken Steel.

A dog that doesn't make you dig every 20 seconds or bark at treasure would be great (fable 3) *face palm*

Exactly, something more trainable, as stated above, needs to be stealthy, yet smart, and obey commands.
