Pets ?

Post » Sat May 14, 2011 9:29 pm

Playing my Altmer Apprentice I had a summon conjured all the time. It would be sweet to have a portion of my magicka pool reserved while the pet is summoned and have its duration be infinite instead of having to recast it every minute or 2. By level 20 he had a Lich pet up constantly... it svcked ass because of how slow liches are, but it looked neato.

EDIT: Oh ya, Hunter pets in WoW are awesome. Wish TES had something like them.

On second thought....maybe not.

They wouldn't be the same as summons.

Cats, easily. I mean I'd never do this in real life but this is a game!

I can't say I'd bring an animal into combat though.

It would be epic to befriend a feline creature of some sort. For instance finding a baby sabretooth tiger (if they have them) then feeding it/caring for it etc. Obviously the growth rate would have to be pretty fast or it'd get lame, but can you imagine having that kind of beast as an ally?

A dog or a wolf would be good. Not sure I'd want some of those other suggestions. But what I really want is a Mountain Lion! Talk about an awesome house-cat! ;) Can't help it--I'm a cat person at heart!

Yes...Two wolves for me: Geri & Freki...The wolves of Odin...But in all honesty, as an actual owner of a wolf, It's a lot different than in the game...

It would be really cool to have a baby dragon as your pet. Its already confirmed that you can summon a dragon via dragon shouts, so I don't see why you couldn't have a baby dragon as a permanent pet. I think having pets should work somewhat to having Dogmeat in FO3. You have to give your pet potions or else it will die and you will have to get another one, except there would only be one baby dragon and there wouldn't be a way to bring it back.

A nameable and auto leveling equivalent of Dogmeat (But a wolf)
Companions are really the only NPC's I want to see leveling with the player.

I really want cats to be in. Not as fighting creatures or companions, but just for fun and added realism.

Also, [censored] dogs.

Well cats do keep the rodent populations down in civilizations the world over...So I agree that the addition of cats would add a bit more realism to the game...

I miss my scrib... :sadvaultboy:

Then again, I could settle for a proper spider...
Hey! I could even give it a paralyzing sting! Just like my scrib...
Sad again... :sadvaultboy:

Not interested in having an animal follow me around and get involved in combat (and all the worry about keeping it from dying) but it would be good to arrive home after a hard day of adventuring to have a cat curled up on my bed warming the covers!
