Phinix Geomancy

This mod allows you to break down precious gems (and soul gems) at the forge to create Elemental Dust and Soul Dust, each with unique properties that can be used for alchemy to create potion and poison combinations not possible using only vanilla materials. You will also find the dust randomly throughout the world, in various places where alchemy ingredients are found (barrels and chests, vendors, on NPC's, etc.) as well as rare recipes for powerful new concoctions. The quality of dust you find will be appropriate for the player and content level. For more information on Geomancy, see the in-game book "On Geomancy." There is a copy near Calcelmo in Understone Keep in Markarth, but it can be found elsewhere throughout the world.

The jar models were built and optimized in Blender to balance file size and resolution. The mesh complexity is comparable to mods like http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8655/. The collisions are extremely natural and easy to place precisely in the world for easy shelf stocking.

INSTALLATION:
Copy phigeomancy.esp and phigeomancy.bsa to your Skyrim->Data folder, and enable it in your mod list. It is HIGHLY recommended you use http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1840/ to create a merged leveled list (Bash Patch) to combine the edits to the random drop locations throughout the world, to ensure the items and books show up. The mod and patches are set up so that if you just leave Wrye Bash set to automatically choose which leveled list to recompile, they will be appropriately detected.

If you use http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/48465/, download the optional phigeomancy-EGD patch and copy the contents of the archive to your Skyrim->Data folder. To use both mods together, you mist load Phinix Geomancy first, then Esme's Gem Dust, and finally the phigeomancy-EGD patch. Make sure all three are checked in your mod list in that order.

SOUL GEMS FROM FRAGMENTS
Soul gem fragments can also be combined at a forge to produce whole gems. You must first refine the fragments into Fragment Dust, which can then be recombined to create the unfilled gems. Higher level soul gems may require an additional quantity of Soul Dust, which can also be created at the forge, by breaking down filled soul gems. To create each of the various types of soul gems requires:

Petty Soul Gem
  • Soul Gem Fragments x2
Lesser Soul Gem
  • Soul Gem Fragments x2
  • Soul Dust x1
Common Soul Gem
  • Soul Gem Fragments x3
  • Soul Dust x1
Greater Soul Gem
  • Soul Gem Fragments x4
  • Soul Dust x2
Grand Soul Gem
  • Soul Gem Fragments x5
  • Soul Dust x2
Black Soul Gem
  • Soul Gem Fragments x5
  • Black Soul Dust x2

SOUL DUST:
The Soul Dust required for most of the soul gem and elemental dust recipes above can also be created at the forge by breaking down any filled soul gem. Here are the quantities created for the various qualities of filled soul gems:

Filled Petty Soul Gem
  • Breaks down into Soul Dust x1
Filled Lesser Soul Gem
  • Breaks down into Soul Dust x2
Filled Common Soul Gem
  • Breaks down into Soul Dust x3
Filled Greater Soul Gem
  • Breaks down into Soul Dust x4
Filled Grand Soul Gem
  • Breaks down into Soul Dust x5
Filled Black Soul Gem
  • Breaks down into Black Soul Dust x4

ELEMENTAL DUST & ALCHEMY EFFECTS:
Since all the vanilla Skyrim ingredients can be researched on sites like http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Alchemy_Effects to see the various effects they provide for alchemy, I decided to include that information here. In addition to encountering these new ingredients in the world, you will also find scattered recipes for various potent new potion and poison combinations not possible using vanilla ingredients alone.

What could this clash wish? or rather, what types of changes have you made to it?

I have a few magick mods, nothing that drastically changes vanilla though

I have really been looking for something like this too.

fun!!

Should not affect magick mods at all. Basically all this mod adds are new unique ingredients. It doesn't modify any vanilla ingredients at all, so it should not be incompatible with anything.

One consideration however would be for any mods that also add specifically new ingredients to the vanilla leveled ingredients lists. These lists are how Skyrim knows to distribute the new items in things like chests, on NPC's, vendor lists, etc., and at what level to do so. To my knowledge there aren't a huge number of popular mods that add new ingredients to these ingredient-specific lists, but it is possible. In those cases, you would want to use Wrye Bash to create a bashed patch of the leveled lists.

This mod was configured to allow Wrye Bash to auto-include it in the leveled list rebuild if you enable that option.

Yeah but how many navmeshes did you delete?

So i run wryre bash, your mod has the correct tags, so i just need to rebuild my patch?

do you think Acquistive soul gems will conflict with your or Esme's mod?

I just took a look at Acquisitive Soul Gems in TES5Edit and it should be fully compatible. ASG modified the vanilla soul gems, which Geomancy uses without modifying in any way. So, you get the functionality of both, without the need for any patch files.
