I will be getting physical just because I like having a physical copy there's no practical reason.

Digital, I stopped buying physical once manuals stopped being a thing. Man I miss those days, I generally read the online version during install but it's just not the same.

Digital, already paid for it, i can then play as soon as it unlocks on Steam, and not have to wait until the post deliver it, and there is no guarantee the game would arrive on release day, plus it was cheaper for me.

Physical. Just cause I'm old fashioned and I love that new game smell.

I stopped buying physical copies years ago. The last time I purchased a physical copy of a video game was Oblivion in 2006.

Pre-ordered on Steam. It's been several years since I bought a physical copy--I got New Vegas on disc since I wanted the Collector's Edition, and Diablo 3 since it wasn't on Steam, but beyond that, my whole game collection is digital now.

I've even repurchased digital copies of games that I had on disc when they were going cheap on Steam (like Fallout 3 GOTY for $5), so I didn't have to worry about discs anymore. No more searching for game patches online, and no more having to put the disc in the tray to play (I really hate that).

Digital. Made the mistake of going mostly physical with last gen and the laser kept frying out.

Unfortunately there is no real difference anymore, I don't think. It's likely that the disk will just be an installer stub that pulls the data from Steam; what's the point in buying that? Especially when you can just print your own disc with your Steam Backup on it?

Almost Human released 'Legend of Grimrock' as a digital installer, and later uploaded a PDF of the DVD cover for anyone that wanted to make a boxed set for themselves.

Physical if you ordered the Pipboy limited edition. Digital because you can pre-download.

I would of purchased the physical boxed version of the PC version of Fallout 4, but since it will use Steamworks I have to pass.

I only purchase 100% Digital Rights Management (DRM) free physical boxed versions of PC versions of video games.

Physical, as soon as you add it to your steam account it's acts like a digital anyway, and it's cheaper.

I can wait for it to arrive, I have waited for this long, so an extra day will not matter. But they usually arrive on the day of launch anyway. And I was never going to be sat there at midnight to start playing..... I am too old for that.

Always physical for me as my internet download speed is abysmal due to my rural location. Besides, i love having an actual physical copy although i do miss the days when games actually came with manuals in the cases with in depth descriptions of the characters, story etc.

Finally, Both added to poll. My reason was because I wanted to play right at 12:01, but I want physical because it just feels better to hold it in my hands, and the perk poster!

digital, because of pre-loading.

I don't trust Amazon to deliver in time, and midnight sales do not exist in my country because of employee protection laws.

I'm also an old-school physical copy guy. Not all games, but certainly ones that I really know that I'm going to love (Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, etc.). I love getting that Day 1 pre-order gift in the mail.
