I'm somehow stuck on top of a few boxes at Cambridge Police Station without any possibility of getting down and I "can't fast travel from this location". And for some reason the game saved when I was stuck so restarting the game/killing myself is pointless. Is there any way to get out of this situation? Would really like to avoid restarting everything from scratch.... Soooooo frustrating

Okay, I found the way to load specific save files which got me out!

Well, this might not help you now, but it will in the future. Running this game on just Autosaves is a guarantee for disaster at some point. But now you already know that.

You should really have a series of manual save slots to use as you go. Then, before you start a quest (accepting is OK, just starting to do it) make/use a save slot. Before you enter a building, make/use a save slot. During quests make/use an intermediate save slot. Keep some mile stone save slots along the way so in case you make a decision about something you don't like you can go back and do things differently.

Now, to your specific problem. Try this, exit the game, power down the console then reboot it (or clear the cache if you know how, but in this case I would power it down then power it back up) This will clear the cell cache so the game has to re-render everything. This might get you unstuck.

From now on do this, turn off all autosaves in game settings, don't use quick saves, and don't over right a save file only do manual saves only...it cuts down the chance of a save file corrupting.
