Physics are ruining my game

First time poster,

Skyrim was working fine until recently, I load through SKSE Launcher, and had five mods running:

Unofficial Patch

SkyUI

Hi-res packs 1, 2 & 3.

I bought a new graphics card (GTX 770), new 120hz monitor (Eizo F2421), and updated to the latest software on both, Skyrim was still working fine, although I inadvertently had my monitor set to 60hz.

I changed my monitor to 120hz, it still seemed fine.

I disabled v-sync somewhere because I didn't think I needed it anymore, I've since read that Skyrim doesn't like that, and although I think I've turned it back on (through NVidia control panel), I'm still having haywire physics,

Inbetween noticing it go haywire, I've added and removed extra mods: Live Another Life & the no city walls one (which didn't work and was immediately deleted).

Haywire is defined by me as:

Animals bouncing, I was riding a horse that randomly shot in the air and fell to it's death.

Characters randomly jumping around, to the point where I have actually lost Lydia. I told her to wait somewhere, and she left time & space, and as I told her to wait she doesn't rejoin me anywhere.

Enemies seem to get stuck when advancing on my position.

Any help on getting it back working would be appreciated, I'm not certain what one thing has made it go so wrong :(

Enable vsync again. Though you may need to set your monitor back to 60 HZ for Skyrim. Try re-enabling vsync for starters anyway.

This can be an issue where Skyrim is peaking with high framerates. Try setting iPresentInterval to 1 in SkyrimPrefs.ini under MyDocuments\MyGames\skyrim.

If you try it under the nvidia control panel, make sure you force it on. It's best to setup a Skyrim profile rather than forcing it on in the global profile.

Frame limiting is another option. You can use ENB series or a program like afterburner. Vsync would be off in this case. You probably would set your monitor to 120 hz as well.

The tearing may not even be noticable if there were any tearing. People often opt for this since vsync causes some input lag and some potential stuttering. Adaptive vsync can help with the stutering.

However, the input lag might still be apparent.

I could try the Adaptive (half refresh rate) on 120Hz, or you change the refresh rate of your monitor to 60Hz via Nvidia and Vsync enabled. (and triple buffering enabled)

Or try with a framerate limiter. (see post above too)

----------------

btw. Live Another Life shouldn't be uninstalled under certain circumstances.

You need to be sure the main quest has been started before you can uninstall this mod.

The quest "Live Another Life" must have been marked as completed, and you must have "Before the Storm" listed in your journal.

Uninstalling prior to this will break the main quest and the civil war as well.
