OOC: This is great I thought everyone forgot about it.

-------------------------------------

Franz looked out at his crew, he was still a little bewiliderd by the landscape. In Franz's wildest dreams he had never anticipated anything like what now presented itself to him. " Boys and girls we find ourselves in unfamiliar surrounds, none of us are used to dense jungle and we are unaware of what the situation is with the wild life. I suggest we make our way over to that building in the distance near the sign. Everyone be readey for any occurance, have a bullet in your barrel at all times unless i specify not to, now lets move."

Franz took position at the head of the group moving in a hollow diamond formation, everyone was on edge. The jungle got thicker as they went deeper, eventualy the group had to take out thier machetes and begin to hack thier way through the dense vegetation. Many of the leafs were sharp on the edgeand cut franz as he moved past them. Franz saw a movement in the bushes and pulled his magnum up to eye level readey for anything that might come out of the scrub. Franz was almost as excited as he was wary, his first contact with british wildlife.

An orange flash shot out of the bush, darting towards Franz's neck, the flash was quick but Franz's reaction was instentanious. There was a massive crack as the creature fell to the floor after the bullet buried itself on the creatures stomach. Franz walked over to the downed creature " Here we are men, our first contact. ".

The creature was a midsized animal, abou tthe size of a large dog, it had a massively enlongated muzzle full of dank yellow serated teeth. the creature had a thin fuzzy orange layer of dirty orange becomeing white around the end of the extravigant tail and around the bloodcaked mouth. " Its a fox, christ look at it, its about the size of a rotwiler. Guess the radiation has helped it assert itself as a preditor. Everyone take a good look at those teeth, thats why you need to be focused at all time."

I whistled, "Christ, this is not what I'd expected to see, jesus... Something gives me the feeling that this is just the start," I leaned forward a bit, "Well, your right, that's definitely a fox, saw something like it in a book once, damn..." I saw it twitch and moved forward another inch, "Well, this doesn't seem like it's gonna be easy walking across here guys." I gave a small grin and moved my hand towards the fox's neck, as I came within about two inches of it I started to get a tingling sensation.

This wasn't what I'd expected, as I got closer the tingling increased and I realised what it was, radiation, I scowled, "What? C'mon, nothing could have this much radiation in it's system and not be something that doesn't have any [censored] skin! This is..." I trailed off, this wasn't normal, something big was at work here. I moved to my heels and leaned forward a bit more, the creature still had a very light breath so I brought my hands to it's neck and twisted it so it gave a small crack.

The tingling immediately left and I shook my head, "Strange..." I looked up at Franz, "Okay, I think we should move on, where there's one thing, there's normally more," I rolled back on my heels and stood back up, "I really think there is more to this place than we'd think..."

Kristy looked at the dead animal the others were calling a fox. It wasn't like anything she had seen in the wasteland, and she certainly wouldn't want to go up against a pack of them. She hadn't been ready for it though, and that bothered her. Silently she pushed her MINIMI behind her back, the sling making a low grinding noise as it moved across her shoulder armor. Then, Kristy reached for her pistol and pulled back the slide, making sure that the Five-seveN was fully loaded. It would be much more maneuverable in the dense jungle than her larger light machine gun.

A ghoul, named Steven, that was part of the group approached the fox, but paused for a moment. The ghoul could feel radiation coming from the dead animal. Something was wrong with the fox, and perhaps the lands other animals. He then quickly broke its neck.

"So, how much farther to the building?" Kristy said, her voice had an edgy tone.

" I'd say about a half mile, in jungle this dense though that could take a while." Franz replied to Kristy's question without turning back around, the fox had worried Franz. Pack animals of that size and speed would be extremley deadley guerilla fighters in groups. Franz turned and took the group into a wider, more open stretch of jungle, against armed humans this would be foolish but when faced with jungle creatures it was the safest course of action.

The rest of journey to the building, now obviously an ancient sporting arena yeilded much battle practice for Franz and his group after they came under regular attack from other foxes. most were dispatched without incident but another creature had appeared and left his mark, many of the group now sported fresh cuts and bruises from the creature. The new danger had been a huge, brown ferral ball of spikes about as long as the average humans armspan. The entire group had had to concentrate thier fire to scare it off.

after about two hours the group came to the building, its grand old entrance was a marvel of victorian engineering. Two iron lions gaurded the flanks of a great brick stairway leading to a now heavily fortified entrance. the place was huge and seemed to be a square of four sperate buildings with a courtyard now crowded with shanty houses, the furthest and biggest building was full of armed snipers all had thier rifles trained on Franz's group.

the stand off lasted about a minute before a man dressed in a rather well preserved pre war suit ran from the main building towards Franz's group. " I wouldn't try anything you mancunian pigs, havent you recived warning enough last time you came here. " the man spoke with a heavily accented voice that drew a smirk from Franz. " You think this is funny? " The man was sweating profusely, he was thin and looked like he worried alot. " Relax my friend, we ar eno enemies. Belive it or not we are embassadors from the wasteland formerly known as the United States Of America." The man laughed " oh i see, you know thats very inventive for youre kind. luckily our holding cells are free tonight so you'll be able to enjoy our hospitality before we ship you back to Bolton in pieces. Until then Welcome to Holte."

The others were shouting, ducking and diving to avoid the "hedgehog's" deadly spines, letting off the occasional burst of fire when the moment presented itself. I had already emptied one of my three pistol clips and several rounds found their mark, but the beast refused to go down. Then, an idea struck me.

I jumped up from where I was lying behind a rock for cover and ran back a couple of meters, unslung my rifle and sighted in on the blurred mass of spikes which was currently lunging at Kristy, who seemed to be keeping it at bay with bursts from her MINIMI. Taking full advantage of my finely tuned perception from my years of sharpshooting, I waited until the creature was mid-lunge, with its less-armored underbelly exposed, and quickly squeezed off two rounds.

They hit home. The creature fell back, stunned, for a few seconds, but that was enough for the rest of the group to focus their fire on it and with a menacing snarl it leapt up and disappeared into the undergrowth to lick its wounds. Evidently, it was unused to its prey shooting back.

After that close encounter most of us had some or other kind of wound, mine being a shallow cut in my left side where one of the spines had swiped me whilst I was reloading my pistol. The bleeding had stopped, althoguh it was still smarting, but I gritted my teeth - I'd had worse, and nothing burns like a .44 round embedded in your shoulder, a less-than-pleasant experience I'd had during my days with the old group - and kept on, sticking close behind the others.

As soon as we arrived at the building a glint of light caught my eye. Automatically my rifle swung up and I fixed my scope on the closest of the number of snipers that had their weapons trained on us. Everyone else also had their weapons pointed toward the unexpected inhabitants. After hearing Franz's talk with the group's leader deteriorate, my finger tightened on the trigger, but at the same time another thought raced through my mind - sure, I didn't want to be taken prisoner by some wild bunch of mercs who seemed to own this place, but then again, how far would we really get in a firefight?

As the Hedgehog like creature was lumbering towards the group Kristy holstered her pistol, and unslung her MINIMI. The others had already begun shooting at it as she dropped to a knee and her machine gun began spitting out bursts of bullets. Shooting the hedgehog didn't do much besides annoy it, and it began to charge towards Kristy as others began firing at it. The spikes on it looked razor sharp, and were quite long. That was the last thing Kristy noticed before she leaped away from it, and Caleb fired two well placed rounds to its underside. As her elbows met the ground she let out a slight grunt, but quickly recovered and began shooting at the stunned beast with the rest of the group. Not long after, the Hedgehog decided it was best to flee.

Kristy noted that she had fired around eighty rounds of her two hundred round magazine. She also noticed that her right forearm had gotten slightly cut from the encounter with the Hedgehog. The cut itself wasn't too long, so she decided to wrap a bandage over it and leave it at that. It had only taken her a few minutes to perform the task, but the rest of the group was ready to go, so she quickly stuffed her medical supplies back into her hip pouch.

Not long after the encounter the group approached the building they were looking for. It was amazing it was still standing after the bombs had fallen and the jungle had risen. Once they were at the entrance Kristy noticed that snipers were perched on the rooftops and towers. Instinctively she readied her gun, waiting for a signal to fire. As Franz's discussion went on, she realized they weren't going to win a firefight, and she slowly lowered her weapon. Clenching her fists together she waited for what would happen next.

"This can't be good," Kristy muttered.

I scratched my chin, this place was more than any of us had expected, I shrugged and started to fall behind bit by bit, metre by metre. Soon enough I looked up and the group was about 20 metres ahead, that was not good, I started moving a bit quicker but I heard a growl behind me. I turned quickly and noticed a small group of 'foxes', I cursed my stupidity and quickly pulled my rifle off my back, I aimed and pulled the trigger. I watched the bullets fly towards the creatures.

They were smarter than they looked, moving quickly out of the way and trying to run at me, I scowled and managed to get two of them while they ran up my right flank. Although there was one on my left flank I'd missed, it leapt at me and I got pushed to the ground... But the creature didn't attack, it just looked at me, I realised it must've realised that I was emitting small amounts of radiation, just enough to self-repair my systems. It licked one of my small cuts on my right arm and it healed right up.

I blinked, all I could think was, What the [censored]!?, it looked at me and whimpered. I slowly moved back and got up, the creature just looked at me, I put my hand on it's head and it started panting, I shrugged and turned around. As I started to move back towards the group who hadn't even noticed my leaving I heard a small yelp, I turned again and the creature was just staring at me. I sighed and quietly said, "Fine, come along, it's not my fault if they shoot you though."

The creature moved up to my right flank and started following with me, this was strange, I kill it's pack and it doesn't try to kill me? Some things in this place were starting to get very weird... I quickly caught up with the group and started to move with them, not ten minutes later another different creature ambushed us. It was quickly dispatched, but it brought us all injuries, including a spine sticking out of my leg, the fox licked around the wound and the spine somehow fell out.

Now I was confused, but I just went along with it, until we managed to get to a building, which seemed to be inhabited. I scowled and I wondered if they'd take the fox as not being friendly, I quietly made sure it wasn't in sight and stood in front of it, none of the others had noticed it yet and I didn't think now would be the right time.

OOC: Sorry im late boys, ive been a bit busy lately.

Franz sat in silence in the cell, the others were pvssyring to eachother or paceing around nervously. Franz had spent some time in a similar situation so he had a fair idea of how to rectify the case of mistaken identity. The cell was dank, concrete walled and poorley iluminated. What little light there was shot in straight beams through bullet holes in the side of the ancient structure. black Stagnant water pooled in putrid puddles in sporadic areas of the room, the smell was unbearable due to a former resident of the cell who had deicded captivitey wasnt for him.

Franz got up and walked over to the cell rapping on each one with his gloved hands, he made a tune to amuse himself. Franz wanted to attract attention so right in time with the beat he was making on his makeshift xylophone he started to sing and old song he had heard from a travleing merchant a long time ago. " They got Cars big as bars, they got rivers of gold, where the wind blows right through its no place for the old, when you first took my hand on that cold christmas eve you promised me broadway was waiting for me. " As Franz finished the section of the song a burley skinheaded gaurd came over to the cell. the gaurd grabbed franz by the scruff of the neck through the bars na dpulled him right up against them. " You wanna be quiet sunshine. alright?" Franz had gotten just what he wanted, he snaked his hands down to the gaurds belt and grabbed the keys, silently as a cloud he moved them to his pocket. " When we get out good sir, im going to rip all of your fingers off. " franz spoke with the cold excitement of a mad man. The gaurd released Franz and wanderd off.

Franz turned to the group. " Boys and girls I would like to point out the exits for todays jail sentence, there is only one. this barred door at the front. " With that franz turned the key in the lock and the door swung open. The group silently padded out of the cell and crouched in the dark as Franz gave orders. " Okay you all go find our guns, some food supplies, water and a gift for your sweetheart back home. Myself, I made an obligation I wish to keep. we will meet back here in twentey minuites."

OOC: Sorry, hectic week...

After Franz had overpowered the guard and unlocked the cell, I didn't hesitate. Taking the first corridor off to the left of the room we were in, I heard voices as I stepped quietly down the passage. Someone was approaching. There was a small alcove in one of the walls, and I slipped into it quickly just as two guards rounded the corner, deeply engaged in conversation.

I held my breath as they passed, then fell in quietly behind them. I grabbed the trailing one around the neck with my forearm and pulled back sharply and slightly to the left, releasing as I heard bone snap, and pulling his sidearm from his holster. The other swiveled around, raising his shotgun, but he was too late as the 9mm round went straight through his neck, piercing the artery. Choking and sputtering, he fell to the ground. I snatched the shotgun up and moved quickly back to the cell, where some of the others were still moving out. I needed my rifle back.

After some careful searching, I found the signs pointing to the armoury. After rounding the last corner, I saw another guard down the passage, but this time I wasn't so lucky - he was facing directly at me. The spray of bullets he let off barely missed me as I dove behind the corner again, swinging the shotgun around as I heard him running toward me. Suddenly the footsteps came to a halt, and I could hear his heavy breathing. He knew I was there. Thinking on my feet, I pulled out the 9mm I'd thieved from my first unfortunate victim, I tossed it around the corner, and just as I'd suspected, he let off a hail of bullets at it, giving me just enough time to stick the shotgun around the corner and let off a near point-blank blast into his chest, sending him sprawling backwards, and finishing him off with a second as I rounded the corner once again.

Dropping the shotgun I picked up his assault rifle - H&K G36, a masterpiece of German engineering. I checked his corpse for extra magazines, but found nothing. Shrugging, I slung it over my shoulder, picked up the pistol I had thrown and advanced toward the armoury door. As I reached it, I heard footsteps from around the other corner. Raising my gun to the ready, I waited to see who else was going to have their day ruined...

Kristy watched as the guard confronted Franz from outside the cell. She was waiting for a fight to happen, but was disappointed when the guard turned and left. Her disappointment quickly subsided when she noticed Franz now had the keys to their cell. The low creaking noise of the gate opening was the sound of their freedom.

As Franz left Kristy decided it would be best to visit the medical wing first, seeing as their captors may have taken her supplies before dumping it off in the armory. She turned around to tell Caleb the plan but he had already left. Letting out a short sigh she went on her way to the medical wing.

The trip to the medical wing was uneventful, and when Kristy entered it was quite empty. The doctor must have left for a break. She began scrounging for her things, or things she could use. In a few minutes her pockets were lined with shots of med-x, radaway, stimpacks, and bandages. Before exiting she grabbed a scalpel in case she ran into trouble.

As Kristy rounded the first corner on her way to the armory she heard a gunshot echo through the halls. Instinctively she got low and readied the scalpel she had been holding. The next corner revealed a guard that had heard the gunshot, and was investigating the hallway. Kristy silently approached the guard. She held her breath and brought the scalpel above her head, then as quickly as she had brought it up she slammed it into his skull. The guard fell uselessly to the ground, scalpel lodged more than halfway into his head. Kristy searched his body for a weapon, Kristy was disappointed to only find a Ka-Bar Knife, but it would be more useful than the scalpel that was in the dead guard's head. She heard another series of gunshots and began to increase her pace.

As Kristy moved down the hall she could see the armory door, and a guard near it. He was walking in the direction on the gunshots, and had a pistol drawn. Kristy noticed it to be her father's Five-seveN! Eagerly she made her way to the guard. She didn't care much that he would be able to hear her footsteps if her was paying attention. When she was about ten feet away the guard heard her and spun around pistol aimed. He hadn't been ready for the knife Kristy was holding though. Her first strike pierced his right lung, the man gasped for air. The next was a deep cut into the guard's shoulder, he fired one round into the ceiling before dropping the pistol. Kristy dealt the final blow with a hard stab into the man's chest. He toppled over next to the door.

Kristy picked up her Five-seveN and holstered it.

Peering around the corner Kristy said, "Sorry for the wait."
