A picture is worth a thousand words

Morrowind's fantasy landscape was one of the first things that made me a bethesda's fan, and it still is a good example of a fantasy setting for a game.

I hope that bethesda continues to make games in fantasy settings and I like to show you a few images that shows what scenes I want to see in a future elder scroll game:

Under-water because it has always been too empty and I would like to see if it is fixed in the next game.

I would love to see well traveled trade routes. Every now and again, you'd see caravans of medieval or Gypsy styled vardos either coming down the roads, or encamped with guards at a clearing. With people eating, laughing, telling stories, and trading.

Also, I would love to see more sea voyages. Not just a mini quest on a ship, but a few where you are traveling to a destination and can interact with the NPC's on the ships. Would be killer to see a longboat at see, the sail billowing, and the hair textures showing signs of movement too.

Lastly, just for the look of it, I would love for them to have a few wee ones running about in the towns, inns, and settlements.

Those scenes always add more life to a game, can you point us to an example image?

New? Hmmm, I want Bethesda to surprise me(I like surprises), but making Moonshadow the setting for the next game's expansion would make me quite happy.

Yes more castles would be nice. Even nicer if they would make them harder to break in. Thieving in OB or MW isn't too well made.
Rivers are also nice but isn't it odd that in those rivers water doesn't move at all?

Yes more initially closed castles, (hostile or on guard), would be great, so that we would be forced to find other ways into for our quests or nightly sneaky jobs. :D

Huge epic and unique castles, huge mountains, very dark creepy forests. I dont really like the atomsphere and nature in morrowind, i prefer a more real type of nature. If the next is Skyrim then i hope it will look a lot like Norway, except with a additonal fantasy touch on the landscape.

One thing i dislike about Oblivion is that even though the nature looks nice it looks the same all over almost, its hard to notice any diffrence in the areas. The landscapes should be more unqiue and dramatic.
Skyrim i would imagine being something like north and mid-Norway, huge dramatic mountains, really cold, windy, big dark forests in the inland, frostbitten fjords, wildlife, nordlys(aurora-borealis), huge wilderness, and could add some creepy isolated villages, castles.

Examples:

Big dark forests in Norway? I didn't even know there were any forest.
But if TES V is going to be in Skyrim there should be many lakes filled with from the mountain springs. Maybe those frozen lakes with http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Immortal_Blood.

You live in Finland but dont know Norway got forests? Haha :P 37% of Norways land is forests. Especially in the inland near the swedish border we have some huge forests where you can walk in for hours and days. Though its true that we very many mountains aswell, especially in west Norway, there its even hard to build roads because its skyhigh mountains everywhere,
only region in Norway that does not have mountains is southeast, the southeast region looks quite like Sweden and Finland, more flat and forest.
We also got many lakes, some of them being very deep.

Well, although I posted my images for general inspiration and did not mean them for a specific province, but all the images in my original post can be used for a Skyrim setting, if we change the desert in the canyon pictures into glacier ice rivers.

Your images are good inspiration for a part of the province, but if they are used for all the Skyrim, then it would have as little variety as Cyrodiil itself.

True, these pics are only from central west-Norway though. There is much more variety here aswell. Not to mention some of our islands, like Svalbard

On one of those islands, V?r?y, they have the most badass hunting tradition in Europa, catching sea-eagles and king-eagles with their hands(yes their hands, no tools) XD.

Allowing for a huger number and huger variety of spoken lines. Meaning more unique, lore-rich dialogue for each character and at least three times as many quests. NOTHING is more important than having more stuff to do and experience.

When I know there will be text-based dialogue, then I'll worry about what the gameworld looks like. Because, otherwise, it won't even be worth buying.

And, some of http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v620/thelobo/sahebjpeg-1.gif?t=1279635856 would be nice to have, as well. But, that should go without saying.

Ah, this reminds me of the my favourite line from a player character ever said in a dialogue. For inspiration:

There, how's that for inspiration for PC responses? :)

The single best line in any video game is from the Baldur's Gate nameless peasants:

"Get outta here, you crummy lobhead!"

Putting a little bit of thought into the dialogue you write goes miles further than even 100 different voice-actors ever could.

I REALLY want something like that. I want to see a huge village surrounding a long winding road taht can be easily seen from a nearby mountain.
