:lmao: I am. I didn't realise not everyone said that.

I havn't contributed to this thread yet either, and Very much enjoy the custom pics some of you pose. :) My turn to add a few, though I don't specialize in custom outfits and such, I offer a sneak-peak of 2 of the 32 posters I made for my upcoming mod:

Those posters look...I'm at a loss for words, they're great! Any chance of them being released as a modders resource at some point? To bring different mods together with awesome posters? :hehe:

They look great! :goodjob:
I did my own posters but didn't know how to get the 'weathered' look so they were rather brand new.
Someone posted a link a while back to a site that has loads of 50's advertisemants. I used some from there. They had everything from food, kitchen stuff, women's clothes, men's hats, cars, all sorts of things that would fit into this world. I'll try to find the link again.

Urge, MystykStar,

Thanks for the feedback! :) I think posters like this can add Alot to the atmosphere of a place, even 200 years after Nuclear war. ;)

Uge,

I can't release them all just yet because most of them are thematic to my mod, and would instantly reveal what I'm doing. So far I've been resistant at putting up a WIP thread because I like the power of surprise and my mod is going to take 9-11 months to finish, so I didn't want the news of it to be ancient on the day of its release. :) However there are about a dozen of them that are not necessarily thematic or revealing, I'll look into releasing those.

MystykStar,

I had the same problem with weathering at first, it took some time to create/weather each poster, UV-map it onto a poster-frame from the game and Nifscope the results to work in-game - but its worth it in the end!

I found the easiest way to weather them was to follow the exact example from posters in-game, where there are dozens of tiny rips in the poster and missing/torn edges. I picked a sample poster and used a Magic Wand Mask tool in my graphics program (many have them) to click into each and every rip (while holding control down) and selecting them all. Then I simply copy/pasted the selection into a new image and came up with a, "rip pattern" that I could then use on all 32 posters. Simply rotating the rip pattern around and pasting it in different ways on top of my posters worked great. Then I erased parts around the corners and edges to complete the tearing. That done, I repeated the magic-wand mask of my own (now torn) painting, but inverted the mask when I was done so all the Non-ripped parts were selected. Copy/pasting that into a new image creates a ripped-poster with actual holes (not white spots) for the rips. Then just map it onto a frame and your good to go!

Cheers and thanks. :)

You know, a while ago, I had made a bunch of fake retro advertisemants for an art project...they were parody, but I had a lot of fun making 'em.

It doesn't look like I have them anymore...only http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v668/kicklecubicle/freshrad.png, which would only fit in if Fallout 3 took place in the bowels of 80's hell. Miaximus, that's a great trick for getting the posters to look all ratty. You're totally rad! I'm going to have to try it sometime.

Skykappa,

Hope things are good!

Very interested! I'll age them up and send em back as Fo3 objects, as well as release them (if you like) with a pack of posters and artwork.

Thanks!!!

Kicklecubicle,

Thanks for the feedback! After making the original (dirty) versions, they just looked very strange on the walls which are totally pitted, scarred and obviously very old. I really struggled with it until I decided to do as the Romans did - steal the technique from the masters and apply it to my own original work. ;)

Cheers!

How would you guys feel about a FO3 "photography" thread. A thread that focuses more on artistic-esq orientated photos of say landscapes for example. A thread for photos that do not feature the main character, but focus on the natural beauty, or haunting beauty of the capitol wasteland.

A scenic thread was tried for oblivion, but it never really took off. 2 threads at most I think. But I think it would be worth a try here.

Ooh, I'd very much like that idea. The Oblivion and Morrowind forums have scenic screenshot threads, so why don't we?

And one more I could release without giving too much away:

Thanks again SkyKappa for the posters, they definitely rock and any more you have I will happily turn into posters as soon as my tutorial is done.

Cheers!

Quick question, if these posters are ever released as resources, even if it is after your mod to avoid spoiling. Will they come with the fram or is it possible to have them without the frames? if hung in the players house, then i can see why they would be framed, but out on the streets it doesn't work for me.

Urge,

I do plan to release them before my mod comes out, per your request actually. :)

I will put out framed and un-framed versions in the kit, which should include about a dozen or so posters (depending on if SkyKappa sends me any more or I get others).

Cheers,

That's great! I'll try to include as many as I can in my project and possibly in some side projects or later work :)
