Oh the embarrassment! http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/9151/99201852.jpg and not being able to do anything about it

http://img682.imageshack.us/img682/1272/61139304.jpg is a newie I started the other day. I'm totally out of original names, now. I'm trying really hard not to use any (humanoid) followers. Not even my own. The eyebots don't count :hehe:

Hey, nice combination outfit there. Is it your own mix-n-match mod, or is it a "tailor made mod" armor?

Very nice hair/eyes combination and that coat looks pretty cool. The colours make it looks like it's golden. :)

Hehe, that image is awesome, Mystyk! Poor guy... :P

Aw, and here I thought you were going to play a Sam Vimes character. ;)
I admit though, your Sam is a lot prettier.

It's time for more silliness with Maggie! :D

Exploring Vault 108.

Then Maggie started itching like mad all over and felt herself start to change...
Going nuts, she hastily removed the armour so she could scratch herself. However, she was in for a surprise.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260760814.jpg
Maggie is not easily discouraged however, so after taking stock, she realized:
"Mutation schmutation. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260760878.jpg

"Just look at this outfit! Completely ruined!"
*grumbles about centaurs and the acidic, irradiated goop they call their spit*

At Fort Constantine, Maggie encountered a bunch of protectrons. With her speed, she managed to avoid getting hit most of the time.
On one of them, she even got in a really great crippling blow.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260761514.jpg (that's a sfx in case anyone wonders ;) )

Did I mention Maggie adores the bobbleheads?

I like it! In a game, it's hard to go wrong with a really big explosion. ;)
What's the name of your character and what's he like?

Suntiger keeps this thread alive ;) I rarely take images these days, let alone come in here much. I don't even have anything interesting today. A couple of glitches, but they're boring :P

Evil cow? You mean evil brahmin surely. :P
That looks like Harkness with her (I know you have a mod that can turn him into a follower), but who is the other guy?
Do you know if there's a way to edit faces in another place than the 'gene projector' that comes up with the 'showracemenu' command?
I would prefer to have as many options as you have in the GECK, but you can't edit the player characters there...

And I think that's a really pretty shot too. Like the water especially. :)

The other guy is Jericho

I only use 'showracemenu,' 'showbarbermenu,' and 'showplasticsurgeonmenu.' I don't bother asking Butch, Pinkerton, and whoever else does makeovers. Why pay when the Console God can do it for free :P
Other than that, though I don't know of other ways to edit faces. I wish I could 'inject' my save into a blank esp as we used to do in Oblivion with Wrye Bash. That was good :)

Nice :hehe:
Do they have a story of how they came to be in the Wasteland? Ayleid weapons...that'd be a tough one :P
I did like using those in Oblivion, especially with their variety of enchantments. Shock was my favourite, for those pesky spectral warriors.

Whether they fit in or not, I'll be downloading :)

No explanation, they're just there to enjoy. I wanted to try out some of the material shader options in FO3, but couldn't release originally until I completely overhauled the textures to be Oblivion Asset-free to get around that "no asset transfer" rule.

Normal maps are rendered much better in FO3, I must say. Parallax maps too. And specular... metal actually looks like metal now. :D

I'm doing a few final tweeks to the mesh's material shader settings, but the main reason it's delayed 'till tomorrow is timing. I've REL'd mods in the dead of night before and they had lackluster starts.

Very cool - getting normal maps right is not a simple task for me - and those weapons definitely look good!

I just like to make little stories. Or silliness. :P
What kind of glitches?

Jericho? Really?
Must have been those goggles that covered his bald/shaved head that threw me off.

'showplasticsurgeonmenu', eh? I'd never used Pinkerton so I didn't know it existed. I'll take a look at that.
What I mainly want is more vertical space, so the top or bottom of a tall or short character doesn't disappear and make editing difficult...

http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l316/camtheman1993/batman-3.jpg?t=1260772351

Neat shot with the character silhouetted against the sky like that.
And hey, there's a place called Canterbury Commons where I think you'll fit right in. :P

I think I can sum up my reaction thus: "Ooh, shiny! Me want!"
However, I like things to fit in, so I made up a small explanation of what they are and how they fit into the Fallout world.

What you see is not less than the second generation of the chinese shocksword.
Faced with the might of the US powered armour in the late stages of the great war, chinese scientists frantically tried to come up with a way to hurt them. This is one of the results.
Using a power source in the hilt and placing energy points at the base and tip of the blade, the sword vibrates at a very high frequency and is covered in a 'membrane' of the energy (electricity, plasma, what have you ;)), making it capable of cutting almost anything.
To fit the energy and tech into the sword it was modeled on the ancient dao sword rather than the slim jiang sword as the first generation had been.

Neither the projectile weapons nor these swords were made in time, or in enough numbers, to make a difference in the war with the US but even 200 years later they are still around and highly prised by both collectors and people who do mayhem with melee weapons.

Well, the groovatron has a 'toggle restrained' command which you can use to keep the NPC's in one place.
There's also the 'tai' command on the console, which disables the NPC's AI and effectively freeze them.

No worries. Work kept me away for some time before as well. You just post and reply when you can and feel like it, no worries. :)

But Akema, everyone is an amateur at some point! :P

I see Akema, but I'm not sure if she's hunting another merc [cue Enemy at the Gates music]. Sniper duel? ;)
Is she any closer to finding who set up that ambush for her btw?

And good grief that fire escape looks rickety. I'm impressed she's willing to use it as a sniper's rest. I'd be afraid the recoil or a healthy sneeze would make it come crashing down. Or maybe breathing too deeply.

I hereby take back any words or thoughts I might have had about Amy just being a silly girl in a skimpy costume. *salutes*

Were those his friend or enemies getting caught in the blast?
Also, the guy in the red beret has a pretty cool outfit.

Goldie is exploring the metro system.
(So far the service is lousy - the trains are not on time, she can't find a valid ticket anywhere and when she went to complain, the staff was dead. She'll write to their boss about this lacking service, see if she don't! :P)
Ahem, back to the regularly scheduled program.

As usual in the metro, there are ferals down there.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260915525.jpg
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260915603.jpg... Luckily, they're too big a target to miss.

Going up to the surface again, she encountered a group of Brootherhood soldiers. A bit warily, she http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260915654.jpg when they wanted help in reinforcing their besieged comrades.
Even though they encountered a ehemoth, http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260915702.jpg and hardly needed her help at all.
Afterwards, http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260915732.jpg to come into the GNR building to rest and recover.
She didn't really need it but accepted anyway, although she felt a bit uneasy.

Inside, http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260915774.jpg told her that a recon armour was primarily made to be worn under a T-45d armour, not on its own.
As thanks for her help, they offered to equip her with some high quality combat armour instead.
Still a bit uneasy but not about to look a gift horse in the mouth, http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260915807.jpg.
"That's much better!"

Even so, Goldie decided to shift into a jumpsuit and jacket instead, though she packed and stashed the combat armour in a secure spot for future use.
Heading towards the Jefferson memorial, she encountered http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/images/10386-1-1260915336.jpg a nest of super mutants.

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260915851.jpg she discovered that the super mutants had made a lair in the memorial as well.
Thus, she http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260915926.jpg http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260915988.jpg http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260916052.jpg http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260916086.jpg.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260916185.jpg

Elsewhere, on a clifftop near Megaton, http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260916240.jpg heralded the arrival of http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260916301.jpg.
Her designation is Paradox, a scholar-soldier of the Alexandria L-space library who travels throughout the dimensions to observe, record and research the various worlds and realms.

Scarcely five minutes had passed however, before Paradox was attacked by a native.
Since there are a lot of dangers in the time/space dimensions, the Alexandria scholar-soldiers are equipped to deal with most of them.
She returned the fire and, not knowing the strength of the native, used a full-powered blast. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260916384.jpg

The native had friends though, and they didn't take kindly to their comrade being blasted into low orbit so she was http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260916463.jpg http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260916570.jpg.

A few hours later, she encountered an animal. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260916616.jpg
A bit frustrated, Paradox couldn't help but vent a bit.
"I'm a damn researcher! I just want to talk! Why does everyone and everything here attack me!? What kind of world is this anyway?!"

Exploring a ruin nearby she deduced that it had been some kind of center for education. Albeit using very primitive techniques.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260916674.jpg With some kind of chalk. How quaint."
Going to explore the interior, she hesitated before going in. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260916754.jpg
"James, configuration C-6."
With a few quiet clicks, the arm cannon retracted itself into the "skin" of her suit, leaving a normal, gloved hand.

The sight and smell inside http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1260916828.jpg.
The air was thick with the smell of blood and guts with an undertone of urine and feces. Aside from some skeletons there was also mutilated bodies nailed to the wall and hanging from chains in the ceiling. Inside a cage, a filthy, naked young female was sobbing quietly, her wrists tied together and shackled to the bars.
"How barbaric!"

Hearing a scuff from a shoe or boot nearby, Paradox turned towards the sound with a grim expression.
A few commands through her combat implant extracted her energy sword from her suit and then she moved in search of the person who had made the sound.
It wasn't long before she met the person.
