Pictures of Fallout Characters #25

Post » Sun Jan 03, 2010 7:21 pm

THIS IS FOR POSTING PICTURES THAT INVOLVE MODS. Normal pictures go in General.
http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1055526
http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=954263

Thanks to Rohugh for the guidelines and the other people who worked on that thread for the idea.

Why this is here:
Pictures of Fallout 3 characters is in "Fallout 3 Mods" not only because the screenshots posted involve mods, but to share and introduce mods to people new to Fallout 3, or are just looking for something new to add to their game.

Welcome to the Fallout Screenshot Thread

Some Specific Posting Guidelines with thanks to Bashur (in "addition" to all the ones TES Forums already require)

Welcome! This thread encourages people's feedback about whatever is posted here. However, any criticism of presented screenies, character ideas, stories, etc., should be very specific and constructive. This kind of criticism is a great way for us to learn and improve our skills.

However, due to some extreme and abusive criticism around the time of the Oblivion picture thread's 50th iteration (which was thankfully cleared out by a moderator), it became necessary to post the following:

NO criticism should be directed at the PERSON - only at his or her WORK.
Also, whatever criticism is presented, it should NOT be negative in general terms - such as, "That screenie is really lame." This type of non-specific criticism only insults and does not provide any help whatsoever. Or even worse, this kind of criticism: "You are a silly man with a silly idea." If you really must say something negative to someone outside of this simple "code", keep it off this thread!

Another bottom line rule on this thread we have learned over time: If you find a post really offensive, REPORT IT AND IGNORE IT! The moderators know how to quickly deal with any such situation, and will remove any offensive posts, if they are actually offensive. Arguing or making demands regarding the post, invariably ends up worsening the situation, and can even result in all involved parties getting a warning.

Also, some posts can be too vague and subject to interpretation - so please word your posts very clearly to avoid any misunderstandings, especially if they are critical in nature.

Commenting on style of play in screenshots:
Due to a recent resurgence of abusive posts, any comments concerning the style of play a member employs should be constructive and friendly - and always aligned with the standards for commenting within this topic and on this Forum. Members have a wide variety of playing styles and of capturing screens - and no subjective (or moral, ethnic, political, religious, cultural, social, sixual, etc.) preferences should be dictated to others as right or wrong on this thread. All members are encouraged to post their screens regardless of their style of play - as long as they stay within the rules of this Forum and thread.

From one of our moderators, DreadLord7:
This is not the place to troll, flame, or spam others. You all are here to share ideas, converse, and have a good time. We don't want anyone to spoil the party, so if someone happens to come along with those intentions please use the report button and ignore that person's post (Do not reply to them or acknowledge them). We will then take the appropriate action to cull the situation and remove the problem.

From one of our moderators, Rohugh:
You cannot take assets from another game and use them in Fallout, and that includes other BGS games. What you do on your own computer is up to you but we don't want to hear about it or see it.

Regarding receiving comments or not receiving comments to your post:
Comments are hit or miss on this very fast moving thread. This thread moves so FAST that it is hard for lots of us to comment on peeps' screenies. So many, if not most screenies may appear to go unnoticed, because no comments occur. I am sure many of us have worked hard on something, and it appears to just fly by the pages, because of this very popular thread. Many of us try to take time to comment because it is fun to give others feedback and generally seems appreciated. But often no one does. If you really feel like it always happens that your post is ignored, ask a question about it. Whenever you directly ask about something, it is almost always answered by someone. Or even repost it - and point something out about it that you like or want feedback on.

And the best way to get comments? Positively, constructively/specifically comment on others work too!

Alright! Glad that is out of the way. Have fun and thanks for your contribution to this thread!

(Written by various contributors to this thread. Please PM greatfool1 if you do not agree with any part(s) of this.)

P.S. Winner of the most frequently given tip to new screenshooters, and deserving to be mentioned in the op:
To get rid of the HUD (Menu), use the console command "~", then "TM" to Toggle Menu Off/On. :)
________________________________________________________________________________
___________________________________________

Console commands that appear to work:

tm - this will completely remove the HUD and menus and, well, anything GUI related.
tai - this will completely disable the AI of any creature/npc. And imo, is the preferred way to "freeze" any character for a screenshot. Enter tai again to resume (toggle) action.
tfc - to activate the flying camera (toggle flying camera; type tfc again to deactivate it.) Appending a flag argument of "1" (IE: "tfc 1") will freeze EVERYTHING. Projectiles, actors, physics, particle effects, everything. The freecam will still move about though. Also, it seems that any script with a timed element may still run despite its associated ref objects being frozen.
sucsm x: A UFO cam speed multiplier (shorthand for "setUFOCamSpeedMult" or somesuch). Replace x with a multiplier value.
tcl - removes collision from your character enabling simulated flight or to reach places that were previously unreachable. (toggles collision; type tcl again to deactivate it.)

To see how to use TAI, see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzBWPhQ-iGc video. I assume it works the same way. If it doesn't, this post will be edited to reflect that.

Help on how to do poses from http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showuser=140510

How to take screenshots:
1. Press the \"PrtScrn\" button. Should be above Insert or Home.
2. You SHOULD see \"Screenshot captured\" (you wont see this if you have \"tm\" on) If you don\'t, the picture was still saved to your clipboard and can be loaded and saved on a program like paint. (By pasting)
3. If you do see it, it should be in ON VISTA: C:\\Users\\Your Computer User Name\\Documents\\My Games\\Fallout3
ON XP: they should be stored in your Fallout install directory (/Bethesda Softworks/Fallout3).

Animations:
The Groovatron, a mod requiring FOSE has come out, which provides means to start and stop a wide variety of anims in an easy-to-use interface.

They prefer risking Squirrel's hide to their own when it comes to pulling one of their initiates ass out of the fire though.

Squirrel have no qualms about killing ferals herself, or about anyone else doing it either.
If she sees someone starting to shoot at a non-feral ghoul though...

Another character of mine (again... ;)) called Goldie. Guess why. :P
She's a mutant of some kind, though she doesn't know how she came to be. She only has dim recollection of her parents and growing up, until about two years ago when she arrived at Canterbury Commons.
She's mostly travelled with the caravans but is now working with Reilly's Rangers, mapping the wasteland.

Pretty much the most enjoyable weapon ever!
awesome screenshots :D
as for body replacers, I like type3 the best, though there are a few more...but I personally, like how type3 looks the most...and it has the most clothes addons for it.
For males, breezes FO3 males is a good one, it comes in a nvde or a non-nvde version.
Ah ok, thanks.
I personally switch between Exnem's and Type 3. I have tried Type V (which is a variant of Type 3) but it didn't suit my tastes.
I'll try and find one that still has some undergarments though :D
EDIT:
Hah! That was fast.
Go http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1051592.
I had actually seen that mod from Sinblood. I'll have to take look into it.
There's also Sickleyield's 'port over from Oblivion - what's it called? Fantasy Figures? something like that. It has several different body shapes. At the time I downloaded it it didn't really go with any vanilla armor and clothing. I reckon it would've been updated a fair bit since then. I use Type 3 for females and Breeze's for males. There's something I'd like for both Breeze's and Roberts (especially Robert's), but due to very few female modders who know how to do it, (and zero male modders that would) I'd need to do it myself. If size matters for the male players, then of course size matters for the female players, too ;)
@cyborg: I know I read it a few pages back, but I forget...what weather mod do you use for the dust, and would it work with Fellout? I'm always looking for something new :)
Its from http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6550. Makes it feel like an entirely different game! B) But unfortunately...it does not work with Fellout.
And speaking of the aformentioned matter, didn't Alienslof release something of that nature?

I don't know about released, but when she came over here for help on her load order I saw she had one of her mods in her list. Breeze's does have the same sort of thing, but it's not an add-on (like a piece of clothing). When you install his mod you can choose between up or down. If both were the same size or came in different sizes that'd be good. We get multiple choices in female briast sizes but the guys have one size as if it was added on as an afterthought.
I can't remember if it was for Oblivion or Fallout, but someone made a much bigger one but it was more like a joke mod than anything.

Anyway
I have nothing new to contribute since yesterday.

New character concept. (Well, new for me. The concept itself isn't that new :P)

http://i50.tinypic.com/20fesjo.jpg

I'm thinking of weather he should wear a gasmask or not. But I'm not sure. Can't find any good looking gasmasks that doesn't look like something from modern times.

EDIT: Wait... wth is up with the hat??? It wasn't that high in my game.
EDIT2: Oh, it was some rubble in the background that made the hat look soo tall. :P

I must say thank you to everyone who suggested the different body mods they use; I decided to go with the Type V. :celebration:

Wow I really, really like these screens, the mood in general is very haunting, and the sepia pulls it all together.

Take a look at my latest costume combination I made with Tailor Maid. I think it looks rad, personally.

n exercise with his platoon in Maryland, Corporal Daniel Rehnstaal of the US army rangers got caught in a freak dimension warp and was transported to the exact same spot - but a completely different timeline.

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259498448.jpg.
At first he was confused.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259498575.jpg
Then as he really took in his surroundings, panic set in.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259498658.jpg

His shout did not go unnoticed, and as he began to explore his surroundings a bullet suddenly whistled past his head.
He snapped the M4 up and returned fire.

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259498854.jpg

Daniel cautiously started orienting himself and soon spotted something of interest.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259498931.jpg
Since he needed information, badly, he moved towards the tower, http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259498983.jpg

Standing aside from the door to the large but pretty rickety house, just in case, he knocked on it and called out.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259499033.jpg

He was quite surprised when his called was answered by an old woman. She bade him enter and cautiously Daniel got inside.
When he asked about what year it was and got the reply "2277" he got quite a shock.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259499130.jpg

Now the old woman, whose name was Agatha, got confused.
After a few brief explanations she went and fetched a can of coffee, pouring a cup.
"I think we need to talk, young man. Sit down and have a cup, then start talking."

After Daniel told his story briefly, Agatha looked sad and replied.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259499338.jpg
Daniel listened, fascinated, as Agatha told him a sketchy story of the US history, yet a US very different from the country in his world.
All the while Agatha moved around the kitchen area where a beef sizzled in a frying pan and some other meat was baked in the oven.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259499391.jpg

To find out more, Agatha recommended Daniel to visit Megaton, Rivet City and the other large settlements in the wasteland.
After some consideration, Daniel decided to follow her advice and prepared to leave.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259499496.jpg

Warned about the dangers of the wasteland, though not sure he believed all of them, http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259499576.jpg towards Megaton.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259499723.jpg
Soon after entering Megaton, Daniel got a bit of a shock and realized that maybe Agatha hadn't exaggerated when she described some of the dangers after all.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259499811.jpg
"Huh? You never seen a brahmin, kid?"

A few questions to some of the residents later, he approached the town's sheriff.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259499941.jpg
"Howdy. I see you're after bein' a soldier. Are you a merc or with the Brotherhood?"
After a few more explanations and exchanging of stories, Daniel http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259500133.jpg at the local resturant.
Talking a bit with the proprietor and the other customers he decided he should ask the sheriff another question. A rather important one, he felt.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259500230.jpg
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259500314.jpg

Shaking his head after Simms explanation, Daniel walked around to explore and talk with people some more.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259500414.jpg
"Come on, it'll be fun! And you have a unique perspective too!"

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259500478.jpg

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259500534.jpg
"Hmm, it's worth a try."
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259500601.jpg

After helping Walter fix the leaky pipes, Daniel paid a visit to the town's saloon.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259500706.jpg
There, he saw (and smelled) his first ghoul. He managed to not shout and point this time, but he couldn't help but stare a bit.
The ghoul just sighed and polished a glass.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259500770.jpg
"Uh, no thanks."

He also met Nova. He'd been on enough tours to guess her profession after a glance.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259500862.jpg
"Yes. Best entertainment in town too, baby."
He was a bit surprised over the woman's good looks, considering how run down everything and almost everyone else.
"You don't look half bad and you're clean too." the lady of negotiable affection continued.
"I wouldn't mind showing you a good time if you have the caps to spare."
Daniel gave her a sketchy salute and a little smile.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259500908.jpg

His attention was then grabbed by a man over in one of the corners. When the man saw him looking, he beckoned to Daniel again and nodded slightly.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259500986.jpg
The man introduced himself as Mr Burke and laid out a proposal that amounted to nothing less than detonating the atomic bomb in the center of the town.
Daniel couldn't believe his ears.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259501052.jpg

He debated whether to just shoot the bastard, but figured he might get in trouble so he went to Lucas Simms to report, letting the lawman decide how to deal with it.
Simms was quite upset and set off to arrest Mr Burke at once.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259501175.jpg
The man argue, but eventually complied, standing up. Simms, apparently satisfied, turned to lead the way out.
That's when Mr Burke pulled out a silenced pistol and shot the sheriff in the back.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259501233.jpg
Roaring with fury Daniel snapped his M4 into position and gave the man a double tap in the head at point blank range.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259501290.jpg

Filled with remorse over the sheriff's death, Daniel decided to disarm the atomic bomb, partly to prevent someone else like Burke to attempt to blow it up and partly as a favour to the late sheriff.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259501375.jpg
He succeeded in disarming the bomb and went to tell Harden Simms, Lucas young son.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259501448.jpg
"I knew dad's job was dangerous, but thank you."

Harden even went so far as to offer the deed to a house in Megaton as payment for fixing the bomb. Daniel was about to refuse when he realized that he had no idea how to go back to "His" world.
Ergo, he'd need a base of operations.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259501522.jpg
"Yeah, I'm sure. Thanks."

However, there was something unexpected waiting for him in the new home that no-one had mentioned.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/36532-1259501599.jpg
The home also contained some clothes. Daniel figured that if he wore them in town he'd fit in better. He decided to still use his armour if he went outside and then he'd switch to his new outfit in the towns.

Hahahah Fantastic!
Thanks! :D
Wow I really, really like these screens, the mood in general is very haunting, and the sepia pulls it all together.
Take a look at my latest costume combination I made with Tailor Maid. I think it looks rad, personally.

Thanks. The "sepia" tone is actually a dust storm, from http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6550
http://fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/1018856-1259652241.jpg - (doesnt she look like an actress?! or is it just me? i cant think of any names though!)
Rather nice looking lady there, and yes, she does have somewhat of a resemblance to Alyx Vance from HL2.
Congratulations to Akema. ;)
Heh, that little celebration video is pretty funny, even if it seems a bit out of character for her. :P
Yeah...that was sort of the point; You'd probably never see her dancing. I just wanted to do a test video and thought that was random enough.

Messing around with http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e29/cyborgakadjmoose/ShootingTime.gif
I have some much better gifs, but unfortunately I can't post them until I find somewhere besides my photobucket to host them or find a way to shrink down the file size.

What head textures are those August? I'm looking for a replacement for my males, preferably something with realistic stubble (not just a blur of nonsense).
