Pictures of Fallout Characters #30

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 7:19 am

Continuing the last topic -

THIS IS FOR POSTING PICTURES THAT INVOLVE MODS. Normal pictures go in General.

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1088742-pictures-of-fallout-characters-no29/

Thanks to Rohugh for the guidelines and the other people who worked on that thread for the idea.

Why this is here:
Pictures of Fallout 3 characters is in "Fallout 3 Mods" not only because the screenshots posted involve mods, but to share and introduce mods to people new to Fallout 3, or are just looking for something new to add to their game.

Welcome to the Fallout Screenshot Thread

Some Specific Posting Guidelines with thanks to Bashur (in "addition" to all the ones TES Forums already require)

Welcome! This thread encourages people's feedback about whatever is posted here. However, any criticism of presented screenies, character ideas, stories, etc., should be very specific and constructive. This kind of criticism is a great way for us to learn and improve our skills.

However, due to some extreme and abusive criticism around the time of the Oblivion picture thread's 50th iteration (which was thankfully cleared out by a moderator), it became necessary to post the following:

NO criticism should be directed at the PERSON - only at his or her WORK.
Also, whatever criticism is presented, it should NOT be negative in general terms - such as, "That screenie is really lame." This type of non-specific criticism only insults and does not provide any help whatsoever. Or even worse, this kind of criticism: "You are a silly man with a silly idea." If you really must say something negative to someone outside of this simple "code", keep it off this thread!

Another bottom line rule on this thread we have learned over time: If you find a post really offensive, REPORT IT AND IGNORE IT! The moderators know how to quickly deal with any such situation, and will remove any offensive posts, if they are actually offensive. Arguing or making demands regarding the post, invariably ends up worsening the situation, and can even result in all involved parties getting a warning.

Also, some posts can be too vague and subject to interpretation - so please word your posts very clearly to avoid any misunderstandings, especially if they are critical in nature.

Commenting on style of play in screenshots:
Due to a recent resurgence of abusive posts, any comments concerning the style of play a member employs should be constructive and friendly - and always aligned with the standards for commenting within this topic and on this Forum. Members have a wide variety of playing styles and of capturing screens - and no subjective (or moral, ethnic, political, religious, cultural, social, sixual, etc.) preferences should be dictated to others as right or wrong on this thread. All members are encouraged to post their screens regardless of their style of play - as long as they stay within the rules of this Forum and thread.

From one of our moderators, DreadLord:
This is not the place to troll, flame, or spam others. You all are here to share ideas, converse, and have a good time. We don't want anyone to spoil the party, so if someone happens to come along with those intentions please use the report button and ignore that person's post (Do not reply to them or acknowledge them). We will then take the appropriate action to cull the situation and remove the problem.

From one of our moderators, Rohugh:
You cannot take assets from another game and use them in Fallout, and that includes other BGS games. What you do on your own computer is up to you but we don't want to hear about it or see it.

Regarding receiving comments or not receiving comments to your post:
Comments are hit or miss on this very fast moving thread. This thread moves so FAST that it is hard for lots of us to comment on peeps' screenies. So many, if not most screenies may appear to go unnoticed, because no comments occur. I am sure many of us have worked hard on something, and it appears to just fly by the pages, because of this very popular thread. Many of us try to take time to comment because it is fun to give others feedback and generally seems appreciated. But often no one does. If you really feel like it always happens that your post is ignored, ask a question about it. Whenever you directly ask about something, it is almost always answered by someone. Or even repost it - and point something out about it that you like or want feedback on.

And the best way to get comments? Positively, constructively/specifically comment on others work too!

Alright! Glad that is out of the way. Have fun and thanks for your contribution to this thread!

(Written by various contributors to this thread.)

Console commands that appear to work:

tm - this will completely remove the HUD and menus and, well, anything GUI related.
tai - this will completely disable the AI of any creature/npc. And imo, is the preferred way to "freeze" any character for a screenshot. Enter tai again to resume (toggle) action.
tfc - to activate the flying camera (toggle flying camera; type tfc again to deactivate it.) Appending a flag argument of "1" (IE: "tfc 1") will freeze EVERYTHING. Projectiles, actors, physics, particle effects, everything. The freecam will still move about though. Also, it seems that any script with a timed element may still run despite its associated ref objects being frozen. This may cause oddities to occur if run during special events.
sucsm x: A UFO cam speed multiplier (shorthand for "setUFOCamSpeedMult" or somesuch). Replace x with a multiplier value.
tcl - removes collision from your character enabling simulated flight or to reach places that were previously unreachable. (toggles collision; type tcl again to deactivate it.)
sgtm x - Changes the Global Time Multiplier, allowing for slow-mo if given a value less than 1. Useful for timing if attempting to set up complicated arranged screenshots. Can be put to values above 1 if you're filming a video and want to do a Yakety Sax sequence.

Help on how to do poses from http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showuser=140510

How to take screenshots:
1. Press the \"PrtScrn\" button. Should be above Insert or Home.
2. You SHOULD see \"Screenshot captured\" (you wont see this if you have \"tm\" on) If you don\'t, the picture was still saved to your clipboard and can be loaded and saved on a program like paint. (By pasting)
3. If you do see it, it should be in ON VISTA: C:\\Users\\Your Computer User Name\\Documents\\My Games\\Fallout3
ON XP: they should be stored in your Fallout install directory (/Bethesda Softworks/Fallout3).

Animations:
The Groovatron, a mod requiring FOSE has come out, which provides means to start and stop a wide variety of anims in an easy-to-use interface.

Got me in the middle of a reply :bonk:

Mr Gary: For a little while I had my http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/980290-wipz-firestarter/page__p__14167613__fromsearch__1&#entry14167613 mod available to download on Nexus, but since CuteUnit started helping me with how to make new animations I've re-hidden it while I do more work on it. Since then I've done basic versions of "flaming fists" I suppose they'd be, and a version that's getting close to shooting fire from the hands. I just have to change the position of the hands. While telling Ghouls some of my stories she said she didn't have Fireball 02's and 03's so I sent them to her. it's not really in a releasable state as the player can't really use them. But followers can use them just fine :(

As long as he is not reset or taken away you can recruit him. He needs to be still on the ship and somewhat back to his original arrogant self.
I usually suggest that the mod not be activated until the quest is complete, because you may still get the initial recruitment line in all dialogue with him. To me it makes more sense to have that pop up only when his quest is complete. I hadn't looked into how to do that, but may do later on.

Ah, now I remember, I recall seeing screenshots of it in this thread (or a previous one, I think).

Does it really matter if he knows he's an android or not? My guy isn't much of an energy weapons guy at all, but I've been debating whether or not I want his plasma rifle. I've got the mod DL'd, but haven't done anything with the game. First fraps hates me, now the GECK hates me. It's freezing up on me most of the times and I can't even use the render windows to look at anything when editing stuff. :(

To stay OT, I don't ever recall posting these here.

Made my way to the Robco place for Moira, killed some things, took some screenshots, yada yada.

Do you need a hug? ;) Most people use http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3284 or some of the standalone pose mods it includes such as Some Poses, Object Poses or Action Poses. All links can be found on The Groovatron's page.

@Mr. Gary: Feel free to get the rifle and the perk both if you want them. Harkness just has to stay on the ship in order to be recruited.

No, you don't fail. You just forgot to use a smiley so my sarcasm detector was lowered. Perhaps I should remove the link since it does nothing now.

What was it supposed to do? Perhaps there is another guide out there?

Should I make a video or something for the noobs? If one is using the groovatron, it's very hard to mess it up. Though with just the pose mods themselves, I think you need to use the console to try 'em out so it's a little more complex.

Edit: There's actually a video on the nexus page, nvm.

I suspect it links to the profile of a member who contributed some of the tips in the opening post. It's never linked to a guide that I know of.

Sorry, http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/image.php?id=12968, please choose another

And that pose goes nicely with any fireball pose, as you have just demonstrated. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/160921-1247909757.jpg.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/160921-1263467587.jpg but I think the fireballs are Cynna's thing, seeing as she was mod tester.

Edit: Oh, I get it - what Simpson is talking about - pretty much the opening post is copy/pasted from the Oblivion forum. Links probably don't work because they point to old threads that don't exist now.

Ghouls knows where all the helpful mods are, maybe she could re-write the OP to be more inline with Fallout. All I did was change the font color to orange, to match the new forum look. The other one burnt my eyes :P

The http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11584 is a great mod but I don't like the burlap thingy that is on the sniper versions of 'em.

http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo232/71boss351/fallout3/ScreenShot112.jpg ---- http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo232/71boss351/fallout3/ScreenShot171-Copy.jpg.

I like it much better this way. Well that's all for now folks.

http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/3959/94696358.jpg. Even funnier, as Kat was blown clear across the room, Harkness runs to catch up to her
It was fun in there, though. Between Desmond and Harkness many tribals fled while on fire. I just loitered around and looted. Not much for me to do.

Every time I go to Rivet City I look up. If my character is evil I release Mr Lopez from his torment.
If he's not there I find him later and just push him off. It's like that guy in Crucible (Shivering Isles) I can't help it, if they want to jump I'll help them

Your images are rather bright, are you using Fellout? And, I probably missed the post if you said before, but which mod are you using for the grass and trees?
I do like the look of your character, though. The outfit suits him :)

Edit: Thread-killer shall post two new images, then.

I don't seem to have that option to talk to him and push him off though, I don't get it? Oh, and I had to give water to the begger to bring up my karma to get Harkness, you owe me 7 bottles of purified water :P

I'm using Fellout with the Enhanced Weather (sky only) recommended by you :) And http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10100 for the grass and trees.
If I can ever get any of my programs to actually work, I'd like to edit the duster to make it less glossy, and look more cloth-like. Right now the GECK hates me, non of my DDS converters or plug-ins work, fraps isn't recording videos right, etc, etc.... :flame:

Sinblood did great work with his armor, looks great on Kat :) I'll have some screenies later. I've gotta get Harkness in some of my ever famous dramatic nighttime shots at Springvale's Red Rocket.

Oh noes! If Jericho was uncomfortable before with just your character and Jessi, how bad is he gonna feel now that you have hunky Harkness along for the ride? Poor old guy! Are you going to get Harkness something cool to wear? I always find your pics a little confusing with all the grass; I don't always recognize where you are. I'm not used to the views with so much greenery.

Heh heh heh, I did hear him complaining 'bout something as usual. I bet as long as I keep the supply of cigs flowing, he'll be happy  I got him the aviators about .2 seconds after hiring him, I dunno about changing the armor, it seems to suite him well. I'll have to see if there's anything that catches my eyes, or maybe find something from Tailor Maid to add to his armor. In that last pic I'm right outside Rivet City, the building thing to the right is the thing you walk up to get to the bridge to the ship, and the shack that I'm in front of, well... I have no freaking clue where that shack came from

Oh, when I had Harkness with me (I'm thinking about getting him again; I'm totally bored with all the girls), I gave him one of the dusters from Tailor Made and he looked really good in it (brown one) it has bullets hanging across the front of it IIRC.

The building is added by FWE's Alternate Start. I almost didn't recognize it with NMC's textures! There are a few of those buildings dotted around the wastes. And I feel your pain with the texture thing. My GIMP plugin won't work either. I'm trying to remember where I put my old Photoshop disc. No luck so far.

@Star: I changed my title. Happy? :P Kat looks really nice in Sinblood's armor. I'm anxiously awaiting the two others he's working on. They're gorgeous.

I'm finally starting to figure this all out. Thanks to everyone who's given me advice!

Really nothing special, but I finally have a cool outfit that I kinda put together (various mods) and a different facial construct, tho her glasses might hide it.

Do you remember where you got it, or have any screenies? Harkness to me seems more like the walking tank, so I'd figure something that keeps that image sort of like what his armor does now. Power Armor is out of the question for the whole crew though.

That makes sense, I think I started out near Springvale. Now I don't have to waste time trying to unlock it or desperately try to figure out what they are

Now I feel bad for bumping this thread once again with no screenies :sadvaultboy: I'll make up for it later :P

Well, in my game he looks alright in most of the plated armor from http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5981 with a black Enclave Officer hat from http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4616.
The armor he's wearing in my "Kat's Robots" image (*oops*it's something else I shouldn't be showing*oops*) is pretty cool even if it's purple and blue.
Weapon suggestions - anything to do with fire. Mini guns he quite often picks up by himself. Even though none of his major skills are Big Guns he likes using them, especially the Heavy Incinerator. I love that one, too! Beth must've noticed my wanting fireballs so gave us that fun weapon. Thanks, just what I always wanted! :goodjob:

Try not to murder anyone or steal in front of him. It's not that he glares at you or complains (yet) but his disposition drops considerably and it's really hard to get it back up  It doesn't affect anything, though. I'll have to change that. Have him leave you in disgust if his disposition drops below a certain amount, or your Karma is really terrible. After you've hired him you can be as Evil as you like, fire him, and re-hire him no problem, regardles of Karma. I'll change that later.

@Llama: I have yet to try your Charon mod, preferring my altered Tribal Charon. If I can figure out how to merge it with yours, to get the features of your mod with the cosmetic change of mine that'd be really good. I'll have to use my new character with him, though, as he doesn't like Kat at all.
With http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11444 I've told him and my others to Sit, Wait, whatever and he does that, but even though he chats to the other followers he growls at Kat and glares down at her if she dares walk near him :(
But, I will eventually try it out. See what you've done to him :)

I have no images to contribute, but will put some more in very soon.

I not truly into the CSA or similar armors. I want all my characters to have something that's more... how to describe this... reasonable? Believable? I'm wearing a duster, Jessi's wearing some form of suit, Jericho has some leather armor, then Harkness with state of the art technology? You just can't upstage your leader :P Edit: oh and my whole groups focus seems to be on small guns. I guess Harkness could be the heavy support with a minigun or something though.

My karma tends to stay plus or minus around neutral, I *usually* don't kill too many innocents :whistling:

That looks like an interesting companion mod, is there a centralized form of communication to tell them all to wait or something? Like FWE's command headset, but it only works with vanilla followers.

Still no screenies, just messing with PlayClaw some more and making crappy videos that may never see the light of day.
