http://a.imageshack.us/img838/4690/63964732.jpg Oops. Bad timing in that screenshot.

Is it so hard to believe that I can create characters solely from the Randomise button ingame? I've been doing it since Oblivion (2006) surely I've had a lot of practice, yet I get the same snarky remarks on Nexus that I've used someone else's savegame and just changed the hair, or straight up copied someone else's :shakehead:
And it's only been with this girl. The 'port from Oblivion (I was accused of) was some ugly Cute Elf girl (think Mystic Elf but slightly different). Why would I bother when I've made so many of my own much nicer characters?
I think there are too many newbies not enough oldies (as in players) who just don't remember those of us who have been here a long time and know all the tricks and shortcuts to making a decent-looking and unique character. Without cheating.

@Madcat221; Very nice work on that Annie Arkin pic! Actually looks more like a NV setting than a Fo3 setting. ;) Good work! :goodjob:

@MystykStar; Don't let them get to you - most guys are probably comparing dimensions and curvature and found a mental match somewhere and just shot off at the mouth. Definitely agree with you that more oldies would be good, but the Fo3 game just didn't hold them the way Oblivion did for alot of reasons - hopefully New Vegas will do a better job (and will hopefully be the last iteration on this engine so we can finish some big mods!). As for age, we are like the old people among a crowd of mostly young people, who are bound to make silly mistakes. :)

Hrm...looks like it's time to warm up Feng Shui and see if I can build myself a throne out of all the weapons I've collected. Either that or position a car in a ditch and try to force ragdoll mode on my character? Idunno I'll figure something cool out.

I find that the vanilla face presets are pretty good, much better than what Oblivion had. http://fallout3nexus.com/imageshare/images/57416-1279905400.jpeg

I'm pretty happy with how this guy turned out.

I do the same thing - take a preset I like and then tweak it until I'm satisfied. I may not have as much experience as some of the other folks here, but I don't think my results are too shabby at all;

He looks really good! I'd be happy, too :)
My guys don't turn out like that. I think maybe because I look at Caucasian Preset #1 and think, "Oh ew. How could I possibly fix that?" Although some of the Hispanic ones aren't too bad. I pretty much used an unedited one from there. I think PB may have added him, not sure. He wasn't as ugly as many of the Caucasian ones.

I can't do celebrity faces, that's urrrl's area but I seem to make random characters who others say, "Oh, she looks like my ex, sister, friend's daughter, etc."

And you always make such unique and amazing characters :goodjob: I know you were around in Oblivion (probably still play it?) so you've had a lot of practice :)

@Dumdeedum: I was going to post a cave shot, similar to that
Mine doesn't use NMC's, but Koldorn's from Oblivion. His textures were my favourite, and they transfer over to Fallout just fine and look just as good as NMC's :)

Edit: I thought it was something else, but upon closer inspection it's definitely from FWE. The armor is Ranger Combat Armor Heavy Mark II and the helmet is Ranger Combat Helmet Masked - or something like that. I may be off on the wording.

Time to revive http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/uploads/1275729812/gallery_80_16_114335.jpg, since I'm getting that Fallout 3 urge again...oh, the exquisite pleasure of updating all my old mods and then stumbling upon a dozen irresistible new ones.

Keep the screenies coming, people. :celebration:

Purtiful, greenie! Love the eyes.

I don't take many screenshots in Fallout for some reason, I guess I'll have to remedy that. Thanks all of you for some really neat shots :)

Does anyone know of a mod that changes Fawkes' clothing? If that's even possible?

http://planetfallout.gamespy.com/mods/45/Unique-Fawkes-Texture-mod is the closest I found to something like that, but it just changes his skin.

I saw a picture somewhere of him wearing one of the Super Mutant helmets, but I don't know if it was accurate. I don't think a clothing thing has been done, though.

Haven't played in a while, where did that mutant on the right come from? It was originally a dummy dead creature in V87...

Like Castro in the 1950s maybe. :P Today you would need to gray-up that hair. ;)

They sound like a Behemoth and are almost as tough as an Overlord. Plus they're just down-right creepy. They are http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13690.

When my character is wearing her 'shopping clothes' they're tough to kill. But when she wears her armor (in this case Nightshade - yes that one from Oblivion) they go down pretty quickly.
http://a.imageshack.us/img811/4508/74455528.jpg I remembered the mod, and even though it's just wrong and super creepy I had to get it anyway

@Pariah: Oh. Oh well. I guess I'll come up with something, then. I can think of one super mutant from another mod I could "borrow" as a replacement. I just think he'd look better wearing whole clothes. Not necessarily Super Mutant armor, though.

Nothing new. Haven't been playing. It's a little hard to do much when my nose constantly drips when I look down  Head cold. I'd rather trade for a migraine, thanks. At least I can get rid of them in less than an hour.
