Pictures of Oblivion Characters, Thread #257

Both Screenshooting Guides from Shadow' and Divine Avenger, along with Other Useful Tips and Tricks with contributions from trollf, Badmagic, Gadar, Spike, JazzJR, RGM2 and an ever-growing list of others, have been moved to a separate thread:

Some Specific Posting Guidelines (in "addition" to all the ones TES Forums already require)

Welcome! This thread encourages people's feedback about whatever is posted here. However, any criticism of presented screenies, character ideas, stories, etc., should be very specific and constructive. This kind of criticism is a great way for us to learn and improve our skills.

However, due to some extreme and abusive criticism around the time of our 50th thread (which was thankfully cleared out by a moderator), it became necessary to post the following:

NO criticism should be directed at the PERSON - only at his or her WORK.
Also, whatever criticism is presented, it should NOT be negative in general terms - such as, "That screenie is really lame." This type of non-specific criticism only insults and does not provide any help whatsoever. Or even worse, this kind of criticism: "You are a silly man with a silly idea." If you really must say something negative to someone outside of this simple "code", keep it off this thread!

Another bottom line rule on this thread we have learned over time: If you find a post really offensive, REPORT IT AND IGNORE IT! The moderators know how to quickly deal with any such situation, and will remove any offensive posts, if they are actually offensive. Arguing or making demands regarding the post, invariably ends up worsening the situation, and can even result in all involved parties getting a warning.

Also, some posts can be too vague and subject to interpretation - so please word your posts very clearly to avoid any misunderstandings, especially if they are critical in nature.

Commenting on style of play in screenshots:
Due to a recent resurgence of abusive posts, any comments concerning the style of play a member employs should be constructive and friendly - and always aligned with the standards for commenting within this topic and on this Forum. Members have a wide variety of playing styles and of capturing screens - and no subjective (or moral, ethnic, political, religious, cultural, social, sixual, etc.) preferences should be dictated to others as right or wrong on this thread. All members are encouraged to post their screens regardless of their style of play - as long as they stay within the rules of this Forum and thread.

From one of our moderators, DreadLord:
This is not the place to troll, flame, or spam others. You all are here to share ideas, converse, and have a good time. We don't want anyone to spoil the party, so if someone happens to come along with those intentions please use the report button and ignore that person's post (Do not reply to them or acknowledge them). We will then take the appropriate action to cull the situation and remove the problem.

Regarding receiving comments or not receiving comments to your post:
Comments are hit or miss on this very fast moving thread. This thread moves so FAST that it is hard for lots of us to comment on peeps' screenies. So many, if not most screenies may appear to go unnoticed, because no comments occur. I am sure many of us have worked hard on something, and it appears to just fly by the pages, because of this very popular thread. Many of us try to take time to comment because it is fun to give others feedback and generally seems appreciated. But often no one does. If you really feel like it always happens that your post is ignored, ask a question about it. Whenever you directly ask about something, it is almost always answered by someone. Or even repost it - and point something out about it that you like or want feedback on.

And the best way to get comments? Positively, constructively/specifically comment on others work too!

Alright! Glad that is out of the way. Have fun and thanks for your contribution to this thread!

(Written by various contributors to this thread. Please PM greatfool1 if you do not agree with any part(s) of this.)

P.S. Winner of the most frequently given tip to new screenshooters, and deserving to be mentioned in the op:
To get rid of the HUD (Menu), use the console command "~", then "TM" to Toggle Menu Off/On. :)

This entry could plausibly be labeled "the ones that got away", not for what is seen but rather what is not. Two potentially excellent combat freezes went uncaptured. One of Neeshka battling a wisp had to be abandoned when, try as I might, I was unable to TAI the wisp. The other showed Neeshka knocking her adversary, caught mid-flight, to the ground on a grassy hillside. That grass was, alas, my undoing. Defying nature, it protruded from the bandit's body in a most unrealistic manner.

Additionally, your decrepit quest chronicler has felt even more decrepit than normal as of late, thus unable to devote as much time to Tamriel as might otherwise have been the case.

All that aside, I was able to capture several images that, while nothing special, are passable enough to post, and therefore present...

The Further Adventures of
Decrepit & Neeshka

Our latest venture saw us recovering scrying devices from http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn303/Decrepit_Waste/ESIV%20Oblivion/Neeshka_BanditCamp_3.jpg scattered http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn303/Decrepit_Waste/ESIV%20Oblivion/Neeshka_BanditCamp_5.jpg, culminating in a series of http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn303/Decrepit_Waste/ESIV%20Oblivion/FortNaso_1.jpg while seeking revenge within the bowels of ramshackled Fort Naso south of Cheydinhal.

Okay, working on using sloth's goth shop, No scenes or anything, just pose shots of the character I was working on. One of the better looking characters I have ever made. Also, a very sixy character that is male, something I don't see to much in these threads (not that there aren't any, just I don't see them >.> )
http://i36.tinypic.com/v9rox.jpg - a sunset at my fingertips
http://i37.tinypic.com/55ql9v.jpg - Hah, I have to have all my pictures taken from the waist up!
http://i34.tinypic.com/jsm00p.jpg - I love these gloves
http://i34.tinypic.com/24fa7w3.jpg - I can feel the sun, filling me with life and warmth.
http://i34.tinypic.com/2akiesj.jpg - And the sun goes down, and ends my photoshoot. Don't worry, I'll be back.

Note: his hair is dark red, that's not just a trick of the light. I took extra care to make sure nothing... naughty was shown in the pictures >.>

EDIT: Sorry I rarely come here anymore, most of my stuff seems to be mediocre at best, so I figure no one misses me.

Nice character. if you don't mind me asking, what mods do you use for the clothing? The belts are very nice. I wonder if they come in white.

EDIT: O_O I got a star! I didn't even realize I posted that much on this site. xD

I saw you're familiar with slof's mods, and conveniently it's a slof mod.

And once again, the number of this thread has grown. I suppose I'll make my presence known with more pictures from my character's adventures.

I had been exploring Anvil and the surrounding area when I heard rumors that someone was trying to sell off a house. At the time, I did not have anywhere to call home, and though I did not expect to end the crazy life of adventure I had been leading so soon, I thought it would be nice to have somewhere comfortable to return to, a place to call my own, not like the Mages Guild where privacy was not to be had. So, I went to the Count's Arms and found Velwyn Benirus, the person who was selling the manor. I discussed the subject with him, and when we came to the matter of a price. I felt that his proposal seemed reasonable, so I accepted it. He left pretty quickly after I bought the manor, I thought he had other business to attend to, and left the inn to http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot813.jpg
When I arrived at http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot814.jpg, I found it to be in a state of http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot815.jpg, but I did not think too much of it, I could have it fixed up later. I took some time to explore the surroundings, before I went upstairs and http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot818.jpg

I had not been asleep for long before I found myself faced with a rude awakening, http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot820.jpg I was able to defend myself, and put the spirits back to rest. But I was quite http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot822.jpg to learn my new home was haunted. Surely this was why Velwyn sold the house for so cheap, and why he left as soon as he sold it. But now that I had paid for it, I would not be satisfied until I found a way to lift the curse, even if I had to drag that fool over to help me do it.
I put on my armor and grabbed all my weapons, then made my way downstairs, I soon saw that a jar that had previously been on top of a closet had fallen and broken, spilling its contents onto the floor. I bent down and found a http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot825.jpg I picked both up and read the note, which revealed itself to be a page from the journal of Lorgren Benirus, an ancestor of Velwyn, I suppose. In any case, the text on it mentioned a sealed room in the basemant that only a true blooded Benirus could open, most likely, I would have to get in there, and to do so, I would need to find Velwyn Benirus again.
I went back to the Count's Arms to ask where Velwyn had gone, only to learn that he most likely went to the Imperial City. So I took a detour to that city, and soon tracked him down, then http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot826.jpg about the matter. I did not try to hide my displeasure with what had happened, though I refrained from using some of the stronger words that I wanted to. Velwyn seemed to feel some guilt after I told him about this, as he should, and agreed to help me. he told me that he would go back to Anvil, and meet me at the Count's Arms, so I went to the coastal city, and http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot827.jpg.

Once again, we spoke, and were soon http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot829.jpg to Benirus Manor. My task was simple enough, I would keep Velwyn Benirus safe until we reached the basemant, where he would open the secret room, then, I supposed it would be up to me to find a way to lift the curse. We entered the http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot830.jpg, and approached the wall with weird symbols on it, apparently, this was the door to Lorgren's secret room, and Velwyn soon got to work at http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot832.jpg He worked at this for a time, until the http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot833.jpg Then, Velwyn quickly fled, leaving me on my own again. I http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot834.jpg, finding it to be a rather unusual sort of place, with the kind of atmosphere that really tells you that it belongs to a necromancer. I suppose the http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot836.jpg might have added to that. I approached the corpse, and a malevolent sounding voice spoke to me. The speaker identified himself as Lorgren Benirus, and said that he wanted to atone for his sins, I did not believe it, but right now, it seemed like my only option would be to play along. I was told that I would have to allow his remains to be complete once again. Since the body was missing a hand and I still had that hand with me, so I http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot837.jpg to see what would http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot839.jpg
I soon learned that I was right abou Lorgren Benirus lying, as he revealed after I had done it that he had meant to deceive me, and then, rose as an undead monster and http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot840.jpg I fought with the overactive corpse, and http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v506/Amaterasu18/ScreenShot841.jpg, proving once again that the dead should not raise their hand against the living, it never ends well for the dead. With the necromancer permanently defeated, the curse on Benirus Manor was lifted, and finally, I could rest peacefully there. Velwyn was also pleased to know of my success, and seemed to feel that, with this, his unfinished business in Anvil was truly completed, so he was free to leave that behind him and get on with his life, whereas I had a house, I suppose that with that, everyone was happy.

And so ends this story and screenshot post, I hope up all like it, and I'd like to add that, once again, some very nice pictures are starting to fill this thread, good work everyone!

okay, now with more of Slof's excellent clothing(though I did change him into pants that allowed me to screenshot all of him)
http://i33.tinypic.com/2lxvz14.jpg - Shallow eyes; The gods only know what they have seen.
http://i37.tinypic.com/2isgyft.jpg - Elegant and powerful.
http://i38.tinypic.com/k37ngm.jpg - and a huge... sword.
http://i38.tinypic.com/20kayph.jpg - What? Trust me, the swords not compensating for anything.

EDIT: I see some nice characters. Maybe there are more none-sixy-female-elf characters then I realize, and I just have bad timing on coming into these threads? xD
