First of all, may I just ask.... what is the maximum level you reach to by the end of the game please?

I've just reached level 20, (playing a redguard) and I've noticed how vast of a world this game has come to be that I have so many quests yet still to complete.
I am forever wondering as I play through just how much I have yet to explore.

Okay, now to my main query.
I'm kinda stuck on wondering about something with the deadric artifact quest - "Pieces of the past (retrieve the blade shards of mehrunes razor)"

After entering the cavern at "Cracked Tusk Keep," the first guy I come to inside there who wants to kick my ass , has a marker over his head. (just as in the clip)
But in my game, the marker is still there after after I have killed him. This seems quite unusual to me. I don't understand. :-/
Shouldn't the marker disappear after I have killed him? Has anyone else experienced this too?

Unless.... is he part of another quest beside this one? If so, which one?
Anyone have any ideas please?

Agreed, this should be in Spoilers section ...

All you get off the orc chief is the key to the vaults. The actual thing you want is down in the vaults.

Maximum level can vary greatly. I have hit the low 60's on three characters and I could go higher if I start to use other skills than the ones that got me there.

That might help with your quest.

The max level for a character is 81, although I have never gotten further than early 60s.

Like Serethil said, you take the key off the orc, then go downstairs to get the piece.

I can't remember if I saw a key or not. But I guess that might be why he is marked with an arrow. (haven't played in a couple of days or so)
