PiiiP Makes things explode!

Post » Wed Aug 18, 2010 7:50 pm

Just returned to playing Oblivion. I believe I have all my favorite mods, once again coexisting. They are, by load order:

Oblivion.esm
Unofficial Oblivion Patch.esm
UOP Vampire Aging & Face Fix.esp
Oblivion Citadel Door Fix.esp
VeronaHouse 120.esp
IWR-Light.esp
IWR-Windows.esp
MaleBodyReplacerV4.esp
Beautiful People.esp
Slof's Manly Stride.esp
Slof's Dark Assassin Armour.esp
Slof's Even More Male Things.esp
Midlander_HGEC.esp
Lockbreaker.esp
Bashed Patch, 0.esp
LetThePeopleDrink.esp
Smarter Mercantile Leveling - Multi.esp
Enhanced Grabbing.esp

In Omods:
Elven Map Redux - Map & Icons 2.0
Let the People Drink! 2.5
Put it in it's Place - Enhanced Grabbing 0.4
Smarter Mercantile Leveling 1.65

The issue:

Ever since installing "Put it in it's Place - Enhanced Grabbing 0.4" (PiiiP), whenever I drop an item when using the grab (z) function, it sounds like an Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman wet dream. I mean, it was loud! I do not like the sound at all, even if I were able to adjust it's volume. I thought the default 'dropped' sound was enough. So my question is, how can I not allow PiiiP (or one of it's packaged components) to override the default sound?

Suggestion: Put this in the PiiP thread so that the right people can look at it.

That would be brilliant but it looks like the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1035265-rel-put-it-in-its-place-enhanced-grabbing/page__hl__PiiiP%20thread has been locked.

It's definitely Noise Maker though...sadly, I like this element of the mod but I need to turn it all the way off if I want to make things sound natural again.

PiiiP v0.5's been released - You might want to upgrade. You can get the link to the official thread from my signature (Click on Mods).

It looks like you haven't got a script effect silencer. Get Duke Patrick's - It should fix your issue.

I just installed Oblivion after 2 years...I got the version of PiiiP from today (I downloaded/installed it today)...but Shademe, since you are the developer of this (incredibly fun and game changing mod) I will take your advice and look at the script effect silencer. Though, the sound I am hearing only happens when I have Noise Maker active. It is a very distinct "magical-explosion-like" sound. It isn't a volume issue as much as a distinct sound that I do not like that came bundled with Noise Maker.

You must have d/loaded it from one of the older mirrors. Make TESNexus your primary server when you're getting my mods. The noise you hear isn't introduced by PiiiP - It's a bug seen (and heard, as you've come to know :P) in the vanilla game.

Yah know...I might have...old fan so I had old links ;) I'll go check it out at TESNexus. thanks.

For clarification, I downloaded it from http://www.moddb.com/mods/put-it-in-its-place-enhanced-grabbing/downloads/piiip-enhanced-grabbing-04

Hopefully I will not have to jump through too many hoops to update it from that version to its current.
