Pinball Yeah

Post » Tue Jun 30, 2009 3:47 am

It was released yesterday on the App Store, it's on sale right now for $0.99 to boot. The single download can be played on either an iPod/iPhone or an iPad.

Been playing it recently, a lot of fun. It has some issues but still a pretty good game, probably put in an hour or so into it by now, it's a good pick up and play time killer.

I didn't know it was out already. I was expecting gamesas to make some sort of announcement before the game's release.

Is the PC version out too? ImageCurrently playing - MDK2 (WiiWare)

Perhaps they'll do something on Monday?

Just the iPhone/iPad version from what I can find, I assume the others will release later this month.

I've been playing it for a bit and did run into several problems. The main one is the Pirate Cove level doesn't work; it always crashes before it begins. Besides that, there's several graphical issues and slowdowns. I refuse to give a proper opinion until these issues are fixed (if they get fixed). ImageCurrently playing - MDK2 (WiiWare)

I was playing it on my iPod Touch 2G and was running into the exact same issues as you!

Issues I'm facing

-Pirate Cove won't load
-Graphical errors when using certain camera angles
-Crashing
-Framerate drops

I thought it was simply due to my hardware not being supported officially but if you're getting the errors as well?

Has anyone else purchased the game and able to comment?

I don't think the PC Version is out yet, at least there's zero reviews available:

It's not out on the PC yet, I don't know how they'll be releasing it either since gamesas doesn't have a store or anything like that anymore. Steam I guess?

The reviews on the US App store aren't very positive and one of the reviews is saying exactly what we're saying here.

Originally I bought the app thinking I had an iTouch 3G, found out later it was a 2G, as you can see, I take iPhone gaming very seriously! Despite that, it seems to work fine when comparing with everyone else. Perhaps it only works properly on the iPad, the framerates and crashes can be looked past but an entire level not loading?

Also, has anyone unlocked the Coderunners table yet?

I'm kinda missing the point it seems. When going just through the App store and Steam, what would the makers of Pinball Yeah and Tommy Tronic then need gamesas for?!?

In the games industry it generally depends on what the contract between the two parties state. There could be benefits related to finances, marketing, etc.

The most apparent one is pretty much have a name backing you, with gamesas for instance I'm sure people who would have never checked out games like Pinball Yeah! or Tommy Tronic will do so now. It also gives you more credibility with the press, storefronts, etc.

Nope. I don't think I ever will. I'm done with this game for the iPhone

I hope there's a physical release. I really don't like digital download (except for handhelds & WiiWare) ImageCurrently playing - MDK2 (WiiWare)

I'm having fun with what works in Pinball Yeah but longterm if there isn't a fix I can see myself putting it down in a week or so as well. For $0.99 though I really can't complain much.

I prefer physical as well but I personally don't think there will be one for Tommy Tronic, and if there is one it will probably be limited.

The TT demo is kinda nice, it ran smooth even on my 800MHz machine, but I didn't figure out how to play it with my joypad. And playing such a game with the keys isn't exactly my idea of fun.

That demo was ok but did anyone else have an issue with the camera? Maybe its been a while since I've played a platformer but it didn't seem to give you a good enough view of where you would jump to when you fell from high distances.

Given the size of the map, it seems like it could pose issues. I think there should also be some sort of a hints system, it's pretty easy to get lost in the levels.

Btw, the demo isn't official, I think it's from the old version so perhaps the gamesas release will be different.

It's probably newer than the one Elven6 saw, since it already had an gamesas logo when I tried it yesterday.

Not the one I played but wow, the improvements!

I don't think the mini-map was present in the version I played originally, the game is far more playable now but the camera still poses some issues.

Unfortunately, I've uninstalled the old demo so I can't compare it too much, but I'm going to see if I can find the install file in my downloads folder to do better comparisons.

It's really night and day at this point, I think as long as the launch isn't ruined the game could be great.

Perhaps the most active gamesas forums thread not related to Fallout in years!

I just got done playing the TT demo. I do say, it's a very nice game and I just love the atmosphere as well as the cartoonish characters. I hope this get a physical release (probably won't)

The jumping is kind of finicky to me, even when I change the button layout where 'up' isn't jump. Has anyone beat the level provided in the demo? I couldn't find the keys so it's a no for me. ImageCurrently playing - MDK2 (WiiWare)
