Nothing gags me more then Hawaiian Pizza. Pineapple just doesn't taste good with cheese and tomato sauce :yuck: .

I love me a pineapple & ham pizza.

Stuff like this has been going on for thousands of years, and especially so in the 20th and 21st centuries.

Particularly the Hawaiian Pizza, has been going on since the 1960's and is the best selling pizza in Australia.

I absolutely LOVE it on pizza!

Most places that sell pizza here give the option of up to 3 toppings. For me, it's pepperoni, bacon, and pineapple.

The sweet/tart flavor from the pineapple balances nicely with the salty/savory flavor of the meat.

Yep, the culinary arts would be pretty boring if there was no experimentation. If nobody ever got creative, we'd still be eating ingredients separately and without seasonings. :P

I just had sake maki (raw salmon roll) with cilantro, mango, and cream cheese for lunch. It was delicious.

Fried yucca with plantain is also incredible (and really cheap to buy too).

The only unusual ingredient on that lunch is cream cheese, which I wouldn't mind trying. Cilantro and mango (the soft, ripe, yellow sweet variety) make a good salsa with chopped tomatoes and white onions. Eat it with fried pompano fish and white jasmine rice, and you have a great meal!

Fried yucca, sweet plantains, black beans, and yellow rice are a great combination!

Yeah, it's not unusual...it's not even a very uncommon maki. I only brought it up because some others were talking about only liking fruit in a dessert. ;)

See, those are both meats, so I'll happily eat that. If it was a hamburger with, say, orange slices on it, on the other hand.....

Oh, I think I've had that maki before. Yeah, it's really not an unusual combination.

I think it's pretty good. Not my favourite pizza topping, but every now and then I like getting it.

..have my 'nads worked over with a beltsander.

..get dragged by the eyelids over ten miles of bad road.

..give a grizzly bear a rectal exam.

in other words, no.

aside from not likeing pineapples in general, I wouldn't like any soft sweet things of another variety on my pizza.

Divines, no.

About as far as I'll go is making a nice pork roast with apple cider and sweet onions. Sometimes throwing in some nice tart apple slices like Granny Smith, but nothing else. The cider or apple juice is enough.

What about pork with apple sauce or turkey with cranberry jelly?

Neither are exactly new ideas.

edit: And gammon steaks with pineapple slices have been around a while too.
