Pioneer Squad Omega: Discoveries

James saluted. Ed stood next to him, also saluting. Both of them had a small, steel circle on a ribbon around their necks. Behind the officers, Pioneer Squad Omega stroked their new service medals.
'These men showed great valour in battle. They sustained wounds, and risked their lives to find Steel a new home.'
James stared at the sky, praying to Steel that the Harley's wounds would heal. The bullets had made deeper impacts than we had initially thought, and he was suffering heavy internal bleeding. His replacement was a fresh recruit, but he would do well as a medic, as long as he was'nt a replacement.

I stood where I was as I stayed there, standing proudly. I couldn't remember much, my whole memory had become a blur, because of my injuries I felt as though everything was a shady faze... Even joining the squad was hard to remember, event though I'd been told that over and over again. I looked at Ed standing there and I smiled, the main thing I could remember was that he was my friend.

John stroked his service medal, proud to have done his duty in discovering a new base. He thought, "We were sucessful in our first real mission, I wonder what Elder Lyons will have us do now." John had a feeling that this mission was only the beginning, and he was ready for it, no matter what the objective.

Although the missile launcher had gotten little use in the last mission, the data about the automated targeting system seemed to be a success. The Brotherhood Scribes had removed the missile launcher from 72C to increase the accuracy of the weapon, and had, for the time being, outfitted him with a Fat Man instead. The scribes had optimized the pneumatic launching system, allowing for a longer effecting shot. The minigun, which had previously been modified to accept additions, was equiped with an underbarrel flamer, with a tighter, intense flame for breaching doors and armor.

Buttons plugged into the Citadel database, and took some AI modifications for the new equipment. It was most important for the Fat Man, to reduce the amount of friendly fire. Buttons looked around through the information, learning what was going on in the Citadel, finding out how the distribution of water was going and learning about new recruits. He talked with Prime, who was still being rebuilt in the center. Prime's recovery seemed to be going pretty well.

James walked down the corridor. Big Barry was going to have a little upgrade. Behind him, he pulled a trolley of spare parts.

James looked up as a Scribe ran up to him. The scribe extended a message over to James' waiting grease-covered hand. Whipping it back, James glanced at it as the scribe scuttled away into the corridors of the Citadel. Two words caught his eye: 'crushing victory'.

'Alright guys, the Elders have a job for us. For the entire Brotherhood. We're going to war. This isn't your usual scuffle with the Enclave. We will be fighting over 2000 Enclave soldiers, with more ... well, lets just say that we will have to watch out for 'wildlife'. In any case, it is vital that we, Pioneer Squad Omega, scout out safe positions to entench our artillery. Any questions?'

John said, "[censored], those sound like some long odds, what ordinance are we bringing?"

'We'll be taking some experimental Tesla CAnnons, and we have recently discovered a cache of weapons just north of the city ruins. We go there first, secure the weapons, then find a position. We will lure the Enclave into battle outside Arefu.'

I looked at the others and I sighed, I crouched in my spot and I held my head in my hands, I didn't look up and I didn't open my eyes. I shook back and forth as I tried to remember my memories, no matter what I did, I couldn't seem to recall anything, not even my own face...

John said, "Ok then, how long do we have before we set off?"

'We set off at first light tomorrow. Buttons'll follow with our radio. One final thing. Ed, you can run like a Brahmin- crazed Deathclaw. I want you as our spotter. Just in case. And new kid, please understand that any slip ups will kill us all. You die, we all die.'
With that James walked to his room. The desk inside was covered with paperwork, but one file, in a large manila envelope, stood out from the rest. The large red stamp made sure of that.

Harley bled heavily. The scribe could tell that from the hideous red blotches on his skin. Without warning, Paladin King strode in.
'This man is coming with me. Load him onto the Vertibird outside.'
'But...'
'I said... he is coming with me. NOW!'
Without another word, the scribe scrambled the gurney up to the waiting Vertibird. On the side, it read 'PSO'.

James had to hold himself together while he was away. Ed would be left in charge while he was out. And Ed would have to train Austin.

(OOC- I will continue to write, but it will be a seperate line to that which M'heree and Francois can run. Have no fear, I'll be back.)
