I wish I had the money, but alas, I'm waiting for Amazon to restock so I can hopefully nab it from there. Unlike Gamestop and Best Buy, amazon hasn't restocked yet.

I don't even understand how that works with pre-orders. I mean, it's 6 months till launch, which means they have 22 weeks to produce and ship so retailers have them in time for launch. I'd think they could take all the pre-orders they want which will tell Bethesda how many they need to produce. I'm sure there's a limit on how many they can realistically expect to produce in 22 weeks, so as long as they cut the pre-orders off at that limit I don't see why they are having stock issues. I mean, as an example if Bethesda's manufacturers estimate they can produce 5 million of these within 22 weeks, as long as Bethesda keeps up with preorder numbers and starts allocating pre-order availability to various retailers at 4.5 million (100k to Best Buy, 100k to Wal-Mart) etc. until they hit their limit, they shouldn't be having issues like this right now. But hey, I'm not in the business so I'm just talking out of my ass.

I'm not entirely sure that's legal. You can't sell what you don't have and say its "in stock". Either way, if 10,000 people order the CE and bethesda only has the capital to produce 1,000 they will get seriously bad rep. I'm pretty sure its still legal, because I've seen other companies do the same thing with CEs but they almost always get a reputation and no one ends up being their CEs again and I imagine they could get in legal troubles if they don't have a reason/excuse.

Credit where it's due, I appreciate Bethesda working on providing as many of these Pip-Boy Editions to as many customers as possible. As someone who had to fight tooth and nail to get his hands on a http://kotaku.com/nintendo-sure-screwed-up-the-majoras-mask-new-3ds-launc-1686082603, I always like seeing a company realizing that a huge demand merits increasing the supply, especially to combat scalpers who try and resell the goods for 300% profits.

Sure it's legal, otherwise pre-orders wouldn't be a thing at all. It's not like they have copies of the game discs already burnt and ready to go. The game isn't even finished yet.

Good, I'm not sure if Bethesda will offer any other way to get more aside from there official store. I think they are doing it this way to try to curb the scalpers since you are limited to purchasing one from Bethesda.

Gamestop and Best Buy are still allowing you to purchase copies, and Amazon has yet to restock them, but Pete Hines has said multiple times on twitter that it's going to happen.

Apparently, Bethesda's store and gamestop are both completely out of stock again.

Best Buy still has Xbox One and PS4 pipboy editions, but is no longer selling PC versions.

And Amazon still has not restocked.

Didn't see that, but I hope they ask those retailers to limit copies as the Beth store did.

They did. I had placed an Xbox One edition in my cart on Best Buy and forgot about it. When I went to add it to my cart again later to try to preorder, it told me I could only purchase one because the first one was still in my cart.

I didn't pre-order from Best Buy because my debit card has no funds and was declined. That's why I'm waiting on amazon. They don't even try to take money until the item ships.

Matt told me over on the bethblog that Amazon is still trying to get their stock updated. I hope that's true. If I can get my order placed for a PC Pipboy Edition, I will be a happy man.
