Pip boy collection

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 8:04 am

it isnt fair, i didnt get one cuz my gamestop only had 6 they were ordering and i got there the next day it opened because i live 45 minutes away and they closed in 30 gamestop has alot of angry customers because of this. im on their list for one if they ever restock which i highly doubt this asuming we are getting no words at all from bethesda about restocking and putting limit on how much a person can buy. amazon sold out quickly because you could buy 3 for each system and you have [censored]s that buy 3 of each and the proof is on the face book fallout dwellers page

No offense, seriously, but they didn't sell out as fast as a lot of games have in the past. I bought one Tuesday morning on Best Buy after missing Amazon's sell on Monday. There is no point in blaming Bethesda. A lot of people that have jobs (including myself, of course) nabbed one. Everyone knew to be quick on the draw after E3. It is an expected thing. More fans bought it than scalpers. I don't see thousands of copies on eBay. It's really just a tiny handful.

The statement about "If there isn't gonna be anymore I'll just until Fallout hits the discount rack because that is what they deserve if they do this." is just really.. silly, to be frank. And good luck waiting for that discount rack. This one isn't going to be discounted any time soon.

So can you pre-order in a physical Gamestop store?

I already preordered the game there before the pip-boy was announced, so could I still upgrade my preorder or is it too late?

I'm sorry, but no. They were only taking online orders and at full price (it is a strategy to keep people from preordering a lot of copies, and then scalping). I'm pretty positive it's too late. The online GameStop platform sold out in 3 hours, at least according to the employee I spoke to.

The guy at my Local EB games store commented that he was waiting for a company email/bethesda email on Monday on Tuesday saying to stop preorders: Im betting if I went in today I could not preorder it.

It was a lot of money for me to hand over, but Ive had hundreds of hours of entertainment from the Fallout games over the years (cept the Brotherhood of steel game) so its worth every dollar.

Im glad I did it when I did and didnt wait till yesterday or today.

Pre-orders on Amazon sometimes require being paid in full just depends on vendor. I had to pay in full when I pre-ordered Aftershock (last Motorhead album)

However, considering I was able to get a Skyrim CE pre-order a week or so after they announced and couldn't 24 hours after the FO4 unveil suggests a few things

1. Maximization of profits on the CE demanded a smaller amount of units at that cost. Which judging by ebay they could have charged a lot more.

2. Someone at Beth really underestimated the demand for this

3. Scalpers won the day

Which ever it may be the fans loose out.

Uh... no? At least not in in the US. Might be different elsewhere, can't say.

^^ Best Buy, Gamestop and Amazon require you to pay up front the full price on collector's editions, so they can cut down on the number of orders they get from people who decide later they don't want it. You can still cancell your order and get a refund, but it takes alittle more effort.

The above link for Amazon seems to be only for digital download pre-orders, not hard copy collectables.

There are multiple other sources that will tell you it also applies to anything they sell (assuming you could preorder rugs, etc) - but maybe they do handle the CEs differently.

ETA: Doesn't seem like it. I see at least one post from a guy that bought the Skyrim CE and he wasn't charged until it shipped.

I offered everyone on ebay with a best offer option retail price. I know none will be accepted but it felt good.

darn i was looking forward to this one but the way this sounds im not going to be able to grab the special edition. I usually buy my pc and xbox editions at the same time and ship them all at once so i had to wait for the money to be in. Ill give it a month i guess before i just give up and buy the regular edition for my xbox or pc only, my hype train is severely mellowed. Thanks for posting your opinions on the matter tho guys considering bethesda wont say anything on it i agree its safe to say they have gone with the "super rare route" (like anyones buying it for rarity not the fact its a wearable pipboy). Meh i guess its time to get myself a kill la kill figure as im gonna have some extra spending money.

Well they better start making more editions. It'll be their loss of money if they don't. As you can see this is going like hotcakes.

I got mine between maintenance periods too. Never got an email though.. Is this normal? Bank says I was charged but I did not get a order confirmation from Bethesda. With the site difficulties and the rarity of this item I would love to have peace of mind.

It was even funnier at the german Amazon, as they seem to have gotten two waves of Pipboy Editions in and both times they put them up around early afternoon, when non-unemployed people like myself usually are busy doing their effin job. Amazon didn't even send an alert mail notification (on my phone), so I literally had no chance to pick one up because I dared going to work instead of constantly hitting F5 on the Amazon page ... thanks for that.

All I can do is hope and rely on good'ol capitalist thinking now, that they'll decide to just make more because they sold so well and they can make tons of additional money by doing so, as I refuse to pay any money to those parasites on Ebay.

I went to Gamestop yesterday and was told all the collector editions were sold out within moments of it being made available. fingers crossed through as they put me on the list to upgrade my standard pre-order to the collector edition should the store manager be able to get more CE FO4 allocated to Alaska/gamestop

Which Gamestop, Diamond or Downtown? Because I need to know how to do that. I really want that Pipboy.

For a company that otherwise seems to really love its fans, Bethesda handled this incredibly poorly. I mean, it's a pre-order; the product doesn't ship for five months. How do you sell out of a pre-order? O_o
