Pip-Boy Companion App -

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 6:32 am

I'm having some problems getting the pip-boy companion app working... I've checked with about 5 friends and they are having similar problems.

So far, I've made sure that "Pip-Boy App Enabled" is in the ON position under Gameplay Settings and confirmed that both devices are on the same local network.

In order to confirm this I setup a quick apache server on my computer and connected with my phone and tablet (both android) via my desktop's local IP.

I have also confirmed that Fallout 4 is allowed within windows firewall, however I have also tried to connect after I disabled the firewall completely, and still nothing.

If anyone can think of any other steps to get this working I would really appreciate it - Thanks in advance!

I'm pushing this, because I've got the exact same problem and I've tried the exact same solutions. And guess what, none of them worked. Always got the no devices-error.

So please, someone, what are we doing wrong?! Btw. I'm playing on PC and use the app on Android (Galaxy S5).

Thank you guys.

Yeah Same goes here, and of course there are not troubleshooting options, just running around aimless on the internet.

I found a solution that works for me. I've got an app called "Firewall ohne root" (yeah well it's german, I'm german :P). It's always active in the background and prevents any app from connecting to the internet. Once you install a new app, the firewall-app shows a little icon, that allows you to set specific connection-options for this app. And I granted it full access but it didn't work. So I tried this: I simply shut off the whole firewall app and then restarted the pipboy app and it worked. Then I simply started the firewall again and it still worked.

Hope this helps some other people.

Kartoffel.

Glad to hear you got yours working!

Unfortunately I don't have any sort of apps like that on any of my android devices, or computer. :nope:

Mine fired up after a couple of retries, including stopping and restarting Windows Firewall, and activating 'pip boy enabled' in FO4.

Then exited the game and restarted it, and got an alert from the firewall asking if I wanted to allow FO4 to communicate on the local network. After authorizing that, did a rescan on the Android app and got a connection.
