Pip Boy Control Settings

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 3:40 pm

I finally got a pre-order, but can't seem to find any info on how the thing actually works. The app that runs on the smartphone.. Does it actually control the in-game settings of the player (setting a new weapon, current health stats.. like the PC on screen pipboy does)? If it does, how does it communicate to the game, Bluetooth server/client, internet account, Steam communications?? ....Or is it just an app that's for show only?

Thanks,

Buc

I believe they said in one of the interviews that it connects to your console or PC over local wifi (and yes, it is meant to work with the game as your Pipboy, you can use it instead of the in-game one).

There have been several games with second-screen experiences run via smartphone/tablet apps. I personally haven't used one, but a Google search will probably tell how those have worked for other games.

Everything lefty said.

The app will be out on IOS and Android the day the game is released. I'll mostly use mine to change the radio station and look cool.
