Perhaps I'm not paying attention, but I don't recall anything in Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas which gives in detail the history of the Pip-Boy. I think it's a cool little device in the game (perhaps one which is severely under-rated in my opinion), and I'm curious if Bethesda/Obisidian have ever created any missions where you go into a Pip-Boy factory to retrieve either a proto-type or something similar to that effect? Perhaps a mission where an NPC wants you to retrieve the limited edition Pippi the Pip-Girl, which was originally aimed at a female consumer base, but failed to capture the market share, and as a result have become something of a collector's item in the Fallout Universe. You would go inside a Pip-Boy factory, and while searching for this thing, would learn about its past. Of course there's always the opportunity to find spare Pip-Boy parts laying around to upgrade your existing Pip-Boy and to sell any additional for some serious caps.
Anyone have any info as to what I'm talking about? Thanks!
(And of course, as a horrible joke, make the Pippi character resemble the Pippi Longstocking girl from the awful 70's movies! *LOL*)
