I looked online for other guns that shoot the .38 ammo and there doesn't seem to be any. There s the .308 mod but that brings the fire rate down. I only have gun mod 2 anyways. I just want a clean looking gun, not one that look like it was put together in a scrapyard.

You can rechamber some weapons for .38, but .38 is crappy ammo for crappy weapons.

If you want a nicer weapon, you need to use nicer ammo.

I'm level 61, but the .38 automatic pipe rifle is still my primary weapon. I think it does 39 damage.

Yeah sure, I have access to much more powerful weapons, but I want to make Survivor a bit more of a challenge... I believe in Survivor mode actual damage is 50% of the displayed damage when you look at your weapon's stats.

Better weapons will appear as you are leveling up or you can buy weapons from specific weapons shops like in Diamond City or Vault 81 if you discovered those areas and you have to caps to buy 'em.
