pipboy app not working for some

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 12:51 am

Hey since I can't find any other place to ask about this app I'll post here.

I downloaded the app yesterday for the android. I tried it yesterday and am getting the same issues today. I start up the game pause it making sure the pipboy app is enabled, then start the app. which sees my xbox one, but it never connects and I get no error unless I don't have the game started.

As I am typing this the app is just stuck on the connecting screen. Now if I turn off the pipboy app in game it will fail after awhile.

For the bethesda people. I am using a Galaxy 4 tablet with android version 4.4.2. Now when I use xbox smart glass app it works fine and I can connect to my xbox.

Just to update on this, the only way I have gotten this to work is put my xbox in my routers DMZ. I have tried other methods and nothing seems to work. will put updates here.

wanted to let people know that I not only put my xbox in the DMZ of my router, but I also turned off all devices that had used to smartglass app and rebooted both my xbox and my router. basically I turned everything off. then restarted my router, xbox, tablet.

update 2: I removed my xbox 1 from the dmz and the app is still working. I am thinking that it's because another device was using xbox smartglass app or atleast trying to. the only device I had was my phone and I had turned that off and now its working.

So if you have more then one device using the smart glass app then turn it off to see if it helps.

I can't get it to even see my xbox one no matter what I try, it Just sits at "scanning for devices". I tried it on my brothers PS4(on the same network) and it sees and connects...grrr.

I'm stuck in a connection loop where it lets you choose your console but it never connects it just spins in the connection screen forever.

Update: So there's a list of things I go through before calling any manufacture for help & here is how I solved my issue: I restarted my router, did not work, I restarted my iPad (hard restart & regular restart) did not work, I restarted my console by turning it off from my controler, did not work, I restarted my console by pulling the plug in & out, did not work.

This worked for me.
""I restarted the console by holding the xbox logo on the console for 5 seconds until it powered down & my controllers turns off, I then turned it back on to find this worked & the app launched & ran through with a bit of lag, it also failed the first time so I closed the app fully & relaunched it & got a laggy but moving vault boy saying initializing."" From this point on its run perfectly fine after I've run through this last step. Good luck.

My iPhone 6 and iPad 2 always find my Xbox One, but I get a error message screen immediately after logging in my Windows ID. My friend was able to connect to my console with his Android phone. My Smart Glass apps have never had an issue connecting. I have been trading emails with Bethesda Support and this was the final response I received before they closed my ticket:

"At this point, you will need to contact Apple Support as the issue lies in your phone and computer. We do not have further troubleshooting as the support on this matter is handled by your phone manufacturer."

By happenstance I did a hard restart using the power button on the console as Name62 suggested (prior to seeing his post). I was having issues with NXOE loading completely on start-up. Later in the night while playing Fallout I decided to give the app one more try. I'll be darned if it didn't connect instantly. I turned the app of/on a few times and it fired up immediately. Let's hope it continues to work.
