Pipboy Edition came without cd-key

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 12:26 pm

My fallout 4 pipboy edition came without any cd key.

I have opened a case with them but I am still awaiting any form of acknowledgment or response on their end.

How long do they generally take to answer and is there a way to directly contact them for this kind of issue?

Sorry to hear about your issue. I've been very unimpressed with Bethesda's support/customer service. I tried submitting an issue to them and received a generic email response with links to things that have no relation to the problem. The email then says if you're still having issues to utlize the forums. That's unacceptable - we should't have to get support from each other.

Thanks for your support.

What i deplore is the absence of a customer support phone number.

I understand some issues can be fixed faster when various users that have been affected by an issue help each other out, but the issue i am facing is not applicable to this kind of support and can only be solved by having one of their support agents go through this with me.

I just figure i'd write a post on the forum in the hopes that it gets solved faster.

I read somewhere that i had to reply to the automated email they sent me for them to send a more elaborate reply but so far i'm still waiting.

72 hours without any form of response from a support agent.

Bumping my post until they notice or they answer.

Top post.

Where did you buy the game?

It's a steam key really. https://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout/comments/3s9e5m/where_do_we_find_the_steam_key_for_pip_boy_edition/

Have you checked everything? THey can hide sometimes.

Well, i looked for a cd key within everything i got in the box.

Once i could not find it i went on the internet searching for the location of this cd key and was told that it was behind some sort of vault dweller booklet.

I only received the pipboy instruction booklet in my collector edition so i went to see an unboxing on youtube and saw that i was indeed missing the previously mentionned booklet.

Only 2 inserts in the steel case are a poster and a foldable sheet with some of bethesda advertising.

My first line of thought when i couldn't find the cdkey was that I was the problem (as cd keys do hide) but i really checked everything inside and out.

As for where i bought the game: i preordered it from amazon.

I would recommend you go through the place of purchase. I would contact Amazon customer service or perhaps Steam support as you need a Steam key.

THanks for the advice.

I will also take it up to them, but i had initially thought that since they weren't the ones that packaged the product they would not get involved.

ill give it a try and continue to try and get a response from the elusive bethesda tech support personel (if they exist)

I should still have managed to talk to bethesda customer support by now though.

Their support infrastructure seems to be somewhat lacking

Oh yea I agree. However, this is more of a Amazon or Steam issue. i would go through those channels primarily with Bethesda as a secondary channel.

Don't waste your time with contacting steam/valve, because it's not their problem, really. You could contact them if the cd-key was printed wrong to the point of being unreadable or whatever.

Bethesda is your second option, first and formost you should call the place from where you got it.

I figured it would not be valve's problem.

I will take the case with amazon and hope someone actually can solve my issue.

I mean the whole thing came to around 200$ with shiping and conversion to crapy Canadian currency.

I'm regreting ever wanting the special edition at all

Good luck. Amazon customer service has a chat and phone option so you wil get an actual human to talk to.

Some on Amazon were reselling the pipboy-edition. They keep the game key for themselves. Which seller did you buy from?

Huh that would be nasty i suspected this might have happened but if its really that it svcks greatly.

At least i was able to instantly talk to someone and they'll be contacting me in the next 24 hours.

Might take some time but at least i'm not in the complete dark from their support team unlike my ghost case at bethesda

I got it from: Amazon Export Sales LLC
