I hope there will be lots of them to find, its a cool feature for the new pipboy
I don't think there's an achievement for them. The idea of playing a game within a game is interesting. I mean we could play cards in FONV, but at least there we could actually win some caps doing it. Not sure what the purpose of the PipBoy games will be other than to just kill time because FO4 just wasn't awesome enough to keep us interested.
I wonder if the GECK will support further development of pip boy games beyond what they've come up with..
..sure hope so.
Game tapes? (Hadn't heard about them.)
Does this mean that Bethesda did as inXile did with Wasteland 2? (They included a 6502 emulated PC in their computer terminals, and the thing will run a legitimate floppy image ~file. Player/Users could code and include their own programs on a disk image file, and load it into the computer in the game, and run their programs.
I'm hoping there is more than just the two that was shown off, (the asteroids clone and donkey kong clone). I'd love either being able to find them scavenging around or buying them from traders. Heres hoping theres a mario brothers clone.
But it would be nice to see someone mod these in the G.E.C.K. and Bethesda puts them into the consoles.
There is a trophy but it doesn't say anything about how many there are. I have no idea how many there might be, but imagine additional pip-games will be modded in pretty quickly.
I would be surprised if there was no achievement for playing the pipboy games in-game and getting to a certain point or doing something in the games, we saw stuff like that in GTA with the arcade games and pinball machines and such in-game stuff like pool darts all sorts of random games they could play and other games had some sort of in-game mini game feature that could get you some random achievement.
If in-game time actually passed while you played, that would be great. But I'm reasonably sure it won't.
Ha that would be funny if there was a way to play oldschool NES games on the pipboy.
