Pipboy images

Post » Wed Oct 08, 2014 11:17 am

Hi, I have recently made a mod which adds weapon repair kits to fallout 3, everything works fine except for the inventory images in the pipboy no matter what I do the missing image error always appears.

Any help would be appreciated. If you would like the mod files let me know and I will pm them to you.

Did you put in an Icon? That is what is used in the Pipboy.

Not sure if you just have to have it part of the mod files, or you define it in the object window by pointing it to a file (probably the latter).

Look at any other object that has an icon in the Pipboy and see how the Icon is handled, then mirror your object to do the same.

If you need to create a custom ICON, see this:

Thanks for the quick reply yes I have an icon file and in the object window I have pointed to it but it still show the missing icon error, I will have a look at the link see if that helps.

thanks

EDIT: I have also tried using images I taken from fallout 3 own archives they didn't work either

EDIT2: Iv sorted it, not sure if this is what you meant by your first part but it has now work by putting all of my meshes and texture files into a .bsa file for my mod.

Maybe you need the Message Icon for the PIpboy, see this

http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php?title=Weapons

This might help you to figure it out to, or at least have some icons to play with

Here is a tutorial on custom icons

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/16526/?

If you search for Icons over at the Fallout 3 Nexus, they have quite a few Icon mods, but the above should get you going.

Thanks for the links, I have managed to get it working now, they had to be in a .bsa file for it to work as a posed to just in my textures folder.

Thanks for the help.
