PipBoy Second Screen App - Data sharing

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 6:58 am

I don't know very much about the Second Screen App yet, but I have a concern that I think needs to be addressed.

A problem I ran into a month or so ago with a particular App is that the saved data from my iPhone was not transferred to my iPad when I did the backup transfer.

The transfer essentially wiped the App savedata clean, reverting it to blank slate newstart mode.

The information I have so far says that the PipBoy Second Screen App requires you to plug a iPhone into the PipBoy.

If I wished to run this App from my iPad, can I freely transfer data between the iPhone and iPad to keep this App synced?

Or is this impossible and will I have to use the iPhone only to run the App?

You don't need to put an iPhone into the Pip-Boy for the app to work, who ever you're getting your information must be wrong. I would assume your phone connects to your computer, and you wouldn't need any files to transfer if you wanted it to work on your iPad, just have to connected to your computer. The only things we know is what Todd Howard has said so far about it.

I figured the data synced to an account or something.

Okay, I couldn't post the links to the articles which stated you need an iPhone.

But they are professional tech/game review sites, so I am taking their articles seriously.

And yes, a cloud storage function would make it so much easier.

Just upload the saved App data to a cloud from the iPhone, download it to an iPad and reverse the process as needed.
