Pipe guns galore.

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 11:23 am

Without any prior knowledge of the pipe gun, just looking at the magazine selection alone implies to me that you can change out the type of ammunition it can use so I'd assume that if you had a receiver using .45 and its respective mag and swapped the receiver for one using .38 for example then you'd be forced to change out the magazine since that makes sense. Until I saw this art, it never occurred to me that the weapon variation could include caliber/ammo changes, and that's exciting indeed. :D

And to think, considering how good it seems to already be, imagine how good it can get when a good modder gets his/her paws on this system.

It ain't a revolver if it's bolt action.

I do like all the variety. Bugger what Todd said about that handcrank monstrosity of a laser musket, the pipe gun should be Fallout 4's signature weapon.

Now the question is, if there are 50 base weapons, how many of the weapons in that image re considered base weapons? If it's just the overall "pipe" thing, then that means a hell of a lot of different weapons overall. If like 6 of those weapons are considered base weapons, then that's much less, but still probably more variety overall than Fallout 3

He said that the laser musket was "one of" the signature weapons in the game, not the signature weapon.... No real surprise that the laser musket is a signature weapon, since it is tied to a questline.

Remember guys this is concept art, I know from game footage it has a lot of variants, but whether or not all of them in concept made it to the game we don't know for sure.

Either way if I can make myself a jury-rigged break action shotgun and bolt action rifle and revolver, I will be pleased.

Also this pipegun list makes a great background.

I'm going to have to collect every version of each weapon for my collection, well if nothing else it means I will be junk collecting through out the game rather than just the beginning of the game like F3 and FNV.

My thoughts exactly. I want to have every variation for my collection...... Hope we can make weapon racks, or gun cases.

But it has no revolving chamber. The one called "drum" does.

It looks more like a bolt action pistol http://media.liveauctiongroup.net/i/14389/14553198_1.jpg?v=8CF89AFF241A600

Such a ropey-assed weapon, I must have one! Stick a side mounted mag and skeleton stock on that blowback one and I've got me my https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/99/Pistolet_maszynowy_STEN,_Muzeum_Or%C5%82a_Bia%C5%82ego.jpg!

The double barrel might mean we can use a pipe shotgun, similar to the Stalker series.

My hope...

Looks like that's what the manual open and pump ones might be.

Looks like weapons can overheat too, which is news to me.

I tend to think other guns will not allow you to change the "receiver".

A combat shotgun wont be able to be changed into a sniper rifle.

Never really thought about this, but now you've mentioned it I can see this being a very cool way of keeping ourselves busy. It also gives us a reason to keep on collecting new items as we explore.

Piper's Pipe Pistol, and if you tell her to use melee, a Lead Pipe.

My bet is that Legendary opponents may carry legendary weapons.

The legendary weapons will have a legendary component that makes the whole weapon legendary.

Say a legendary scope or a very reliable receiver or an extra large ammo clip that doesn't jam.

Any weapon that can use the component will be made legendary and gets the legendary benefit.

I can see it now. Her companion quest will be to help a group of paranoid ghoul doomsayers tucked away in a far corner of the wastes. Once you complete the quest, the headline will be:

Perky Piper picked a pack of pickled preppers.

Sorry, I couldn't help it lol :D

I know its exciting and everything, but keep in mind that this is just concept art. And while the revolver and standard recievers are confirmed, that doesn't mean we are getting all of the reciever types.

I would love to have all of those recievers and other components in game though, if nothing else mods will save the day.

With all those pipe gun models I'm thinking it's going to be quite awhile before we start stumbling upon better weapons..

I agree which I like. Make those military grade tech weapons a treat to find without adversely affecting the early game variety.

No? The Shishkebab has always been a homemade flaming sword. Not sure where you're getting the elemental effects idea from.
