Piper says she loves me, but I can tell she's bored

Post » Fri Feb 26, 2016 8:05 pm

After having Piper as a partner for almost 400 hours, it looks like she is starting to crave excitement.

Today, after clearing out the BADTFL on a quest, I caught her huffing Jet. I hadn't given it to her, so she must have picked it up from the Raiders.

It's the first time I've seen something like that. I hope she doesn't get into the medicine cabinet back at the Red Rocket; I've got Psychobuff and Yao Guai steaks in there!

Personally I think Piper has a weird mouth. You prolly better off leaving that junkie at base camp, and taking the six bot Curie with you.

Well, I met her 400 hours ago. But I've reached max affinity with MacCready, Curie and Cait, and have run around with Nick and Danse as well. And the pooch, until I met Piper. I like companions.

I have ignored the others, though, for reasons.

Are you sure she was huffing Jet because she has it in her inventory?

I don't know how accurate a description that is, but I'm fairly certain that every maps has "slots" for NPCs to perform certain actions at, such as glancing at the distance while shielding eyes from the sun, leaning on a wall, even smoking seems to be limited to certain areas. I think because this is a Raider-inhabited area, they probably assigned this "jet inhaling spot" to the map, so the Raiders would look more Raider-y when left unprovoked.

All my companions lean on walls/ read newspapers in hub cities; or start smoking cigs like crazy whenever we're in Memory Den or Railroad HQ, with none in their inventory - even Curie.

Don't give companions any jets. They will use it all up. Because Hancock doesn't have an essential tag, he can die of overdosed if you leave it in his inventory. I gave Danse some jets, and the scout boy uses it like there's no tomorrow.
