Pirated Copies Can Now Go Online and Play Multiplayer ?!?!

Post » Mon Jan 31, 2011 1:43 am

So great, just because i decided to buy a game for ONCE i get all this ****...
now people who pirate have more benefits than people who bought it...
this is the most terrible game i have ever seen in all my gaming life... pirates can play online... while custormers can barely log in...wtf?
i guess after this game i should return to my pirate paradise... because pirating games is of better service than buying.
And when pc gaming dies i can at least say its not my fault... i tried...

Please read my last post. The idiot who talked about the leak and pirates has no idea what he's talking about.

The pirates have the exact same version we do. Which means they are only getting our buggy software for free. they aren't getting a better experience. Google if you don't believe me. I'm sure skidrow and reloaded will pop up. Which for the leak didn't require any cracks because the security wasn't implemented. So that should let you know that they have the exact same version we do. meaning no DX11, and no sandbox editor.

@xPreatorianx, I think you are reading more into it then what he was actually saying... Either way, take it to PM if you want to argue with one another.

You said the pirates are getting more then paying customers. The pirates are using sandbox and DX11. While that's not the case.

Really? I said that? I think you need to go over what I said a second time. I never said that the pirates were using DX11, I simply asked if they got DX11 too aswell as the Sandbox. Does the Sandbox work? If so, they have infact gotten more than paying customers, which takes me back to my first point being completely valid.

The rest of your little hissy fit must be to someone else, as that has absolutely nothing to do with what I've been talking about.

This guy is right. My last post will be my last response to that guy in this thread.

EDIT: Sorry last post, even though it's considered on topic. I'm done trying to explain this. If he wasn't talking about the leak he needs to reword his post. As his post implies the leak.

You only put a question mark on the DX11 part. So you actually said they have the sandbox. Again that was a statement and not a question, while the DX11 part was a question.

Please read my bloody post. Jesus. You were talking about the fact that they may have DX11 or rather you asked. Plus you said they also have sandbox editor. Which again IMPLIES THE BETA. The final version is incompatible with the sandbox editor because the files are encrypted. Is english your first language? God I hope it's not.

Please read your words, absorb them, and then read mine. You said that the pirates have a better version because of the possibility of DX11 and because of the sandbox. THAT AGAIN IMPLIES THE LEAK. Considering the only release that has the sandbox editor is the leak. I should know I downloaded it before I preordered my Crysis 2.

@xPreatorianx

I know mate, i checked my "pirate sources" and i saw people who played it, but im pissed dead right now.

When i said better service i meant = no DRM, just crack and play, and they can could play it from day 1, im still waiting for my copy to arrive... (and not about dx11 and that ****, thats just stupid)

I bought this game specifically to play online, if i wanted to play the single player and throw it in the bin i would have pirated easily. I never pirated a game that I could play online with others. I just hope that when (IF) they fix multiplayer once and for all, they will kick out the pirates.

Peace

Hey I have no problem playing alongside pirates. They're generally a pretty nice crowd, probably because they have a community that involves sharing, something a lot of people just can't fathom doing. The argument that pirates are only nice because they get the game for free doesn't really matter, most of them enjoy the game so much, they go on and buy it day one, which is exactly what I did after playing the leak back in February. Also, somebody in the pirate community has to make the copies and post the torrent, and then seed it until multiple people finish downloading it. I'm not saying that Crytek shouldn't patch this issue though, if they don't then the amount of people who buy it after pirating it will decrease once they figure out that there's no benefit to buying it since a pirated copy can play online.

Hopefully. Also I have to disagree about the DRM in this case. It's not intrusive and as long as you remember to de-authorize your copy before uninstalling it's fine. I can see how that's a problem though considering the past few days my computer has been really screwed up and I've done formatted about 10 times. Luckily I spend about 2 hours backing stuff up so I just added Crysis 2 to the list of things to do before I pull the plug. I always keep a list in notepad for stuff that needs to be taken care of before I reformat.

I can play MP, but it's not perfect. I usually only get to play about 2 hours before stuff gets really weird. Then sometimes it takes me 30 minutes just to find a match. But I have been making sure that I level my ranked server once every 3 rounds to make sure my progress is saved so I don't rage. The key was easy to fix. Run as admin a few times and play a few games after doing the all lower case with no dashes and it stuck finally.

While I agree that I don't hate pirates. Hell I pirate games before I decide to buy them as well. I never play a pirated game in MP. So I expect no one else to be able to. After all if the game is SP only that's fine, but MP if your gonna play it buy it. I always use pirating to demo my games before I buy them. I downloaded the leak for Crysis 2 as well. I actually liked it and thought the bugs were gonna be gone. Now I'm wishing I would have waited. Ooh well.

Exactly my thoughts, the worst part is that Crytek knows we have an infinite list of stuff that we want changed:
http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=11392
and after 5 days we are still waiting... with a bunch of broken promises from the forum mods.
As far as i know Crytek should be one of the pro PC devs, i trusted them.. but i guess i was wrong..
I wouldnt even call this a console port... coz console ports work way better lol.
This is a case of its own. Unbelieavable

there will always be pirates and hackers, its just a fact of life for PC gaming. If we could host servers from our own PCs though there would be ways to help deal with that a little better.

Borss every thread you post in you blindly stick up for Crytek. People have a right to express their opinions, so stop being such a fanboy and back off.

Pirates paid nothing and are playing MP. I can't even login.. yet I paid.. something wrong with that picture. Hopefully I don't finish SP while this bug is still present. Not much I can do as I've just given up.. have no faith in any PC company except Blizzard anymore.. at least Starcraft 2 worked wonderfully on day one.. as many games have actually.. It's a shame really because I find this game and its story extremely fun.

WOW this isn't patched yet!? You figured Crytek would've learned not to make anything client sided after all the hacking(or should I say file editing) that was done by the kids in Crysis.

Well, the offices are closed now until Monday, when the programmers will get back to work. I should imagine they will try and get all the major problems fixed in one fell swoop, so it may be the end of the week before we see anything sadly.

How about you don't act like an asshole and maybe you'll get a response. You sound like a 5 year old throwing a temper tantrum.

**** off Borss. Pirates playing on multiplayer is something that ruins games.
But in the world I live in people who on one hand ask for something to be fixed whilst insulting those same people DO sound like a petulant child with little manners. His problem wasn't with the topic but the way it was worded.
Learn to read what a posters saying before unecessarily flinging F Off at someone.

WOW this isn't patched yet!?
It probably isnt a 5 minute fix, Give them time. The same thing happened with Splinter Cell Conviction and they knew about that long before the patch/Fix was implemented

Lol I can't believe how you guys got your panties in a bunch about pirates being cheaters. Pirates are the same as everyone else they just didn't shell out any money. Go have yourself a good cry then get the **** over it.

This thread might be deleted because it announces that a hacked client is available that has multiplayer support.

Basically, it promotes the hacked client and they don't want people to massively go download it because someone couldn't use their tech support service which is a better way to talk about such sensitive issues.

I was just mad finding this out that pirates get to play online when I couldn't even get the servers to register or let me into lobbies.

I already returned the game now tho so I don't even care. Just gonna finish the singleplayer and delete the game lol
